In first meeting of Quinn Rose James, the one thing to take note of would be her genuine kindness. Ever since she could show her personality as a child, she would help others when she could and try to cheer them up when they needed it. She always had a smile on her face and she tries her best to keep this true even in the mess of things occurring around her. Despite the hardships she has had to endure, Quinn always tries to think of how someone else could had suffered more than she has. She always looks to the bright side to keep those around her positive, and she is not afraid to put her own needs aside to help a friend.

It is clear that Quinn has had to mature much quicker than she would have should the outbreak had not occurred. Despite being merely eleven, she shows wisdom beyond her years when she advocates for helping others, including strangers. She hates to leave people to suffer as she is not a stranger to suffering herself. She puts others before herself, despite often being told to look after herself first, as the children are the future of the human race, now more than ever.

However, despite her attempts to remain her bright and cheerful self, Quinn cannot deny the hardships she has had to endure and sometimes even she can become depressed and find it hard to keep moving on. She is constantly wishing for the madness around her to end, though something tells her it never will. As time goes on, Quinn begins to learn that she must value life over anything else and she becomes much more intent on staying alive than anything else, losing her focus on staying positive.

The history of Quinn Rose James begins in the bright hospital room 208 of Valley Medical Center in Renton, Washington, not far from Seattle, at 1:28 in the afternoon. A beautiful yet screaming baby girl emerged into the world, the first and only daughter to Kate and Thomas James. It only took a moment to clean the infant off and to stop her crying, and when she opened her ocean-blue eyes, it was clear she would be the happiest child in Renton.

Quinn grew quickly, excelling in both school and extracurriculars. She loved to read and by the time she was in fourth grade, she was reading at a twelfth grade level. She played soccer since first grade and loved to ride her bike anywhere she went, developing strong legs. It helped her as a kid to be able to run quickly, though she never thought about how much it would help her in the future.

She was close with her parents too. As an only child, she had all their attention. She could've asked for anything she wanted, though she was usually reasonable about doing so. Usually. She was quite spoiled, though she was also taught to put others before herself by watching her mother and father put her first. She was on her way to having a perfect life.

A few weeks ago, the James' went on vacation to Oakesdale. Her father had a conference for work and the family decided to make it a quick getaway for them. Being only eleven, Quinn was as excited for Oakesdale as she would have been if they were headed to the Bahamas. It was a short vacation, but she enjoyed every minute of it, happy to spend the time with her parents.

One afternoon, while her father was in a session for his conference, Quinn's mother took her to a local park for her to play. Kate left for a moment to buy a coffee at the nearby Starbucks, confident Quinn could take care of herself. While she was gone, Quinn started a game of tag with a cute white-haired boy about her age, called Lusca. The two got along great immediately, both being very cheerful and happy. They played together for the rest of the afternoon, figuring they wouldn't see each other again because Quinn was to leave for home the next day. She couldn't have been more wrong.
