129784 Reading both Flash The Making of Weegee the Famous by Christopher Bonanos and Futureface A Family Mystery, an Epic Quest, and the Secret to Belonging by Alex Wagner . The latter book actually came from Vine, but it's available for request right now at NG, too.

129784 Yes, that's very easy to understand. Thank you, Dorie. I never noticed the "add cover" option.

129784 How do you add pictures of the books you are reading to your replies?

129784 My mother received her Kindle as a Christmas present, and would not touch it until the following July! From that point on, though, she always said that Kindle was the best present she ever received. It kept her reading for years after she would not have been able to with books, because you could increase the font sizes. When she got Kindle Unlimited, it was non-stop reading of mystery and thriller books! So, it is sad she can no longer read, and now watches TV instead.

Yes, I understand dry eyes can cause all sorts of vision problem, as well as pain, too. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. What categories do you choose books from at NetGalley?

129784 An Amazon rep just told me there are technical problems that are keeping reviews from being published; and that the reviews will be published eventually, unless you get an e-mail stating they can't be for some reason.

129784 Thamy, I don't know if it's psychological or what, but the bigger screen just really helps with books I'm not finding that enjoyable; but still wish to finish so I can do a review. With the smaller screens, it felt like it was taking way too long to get to the end of the book. :) At $50, the HD 8 was just too hard to pass up.

TUDOR^QUEEN*, I never knew about the color choices until recently. I was reading about possible ways to help someone with vision problems read again; since my 84-year-old mother can't read well on her Kindle any longer; and it suggested white on black, instead of black on white. Unfortunately, my mother won't even try it. She was told her vision would never get better, only worse, so I think she has just given up trying to read. I'll have to try the black on white.

129784 Hi, I'm Sunday and I usually get books from the nonfiction and biography categories, as well as sometimes from the entertainment category and the true crime one. I still prefer reading paper copies of books; but after getting a Fire HD 8 at Amazon during the Christmas season, find myself enjoying Kindle copies more. I think because the 8" screen is the same size as most of the pages in the paper books I read. Has anyone else discovered a larger Kindle screen makes a big difference in their Kindle reading?

129784 I'm so glad to see Amazon isn't just delaying my reviews for NetGalley books. Starting last week, any book review I posted that wasn't a "verified purchase" or a Vine book did not immediately post. No rejection e-mails or pop-ups about having already reviewed 5 items that week. Nothing. (Oh wait, I did get a rejection on a Vine book because I used asterisks in a word the author kept using, because I don't swear. But, as soon as I removed the offending "word", the review immediately posted.)

I had to "chat" repeatedly to get a NetGalley book review posted last week, and then had to repeatedly "chat" to get editing to work, to make needed corrections. I now have three NetGalley books in limbo somewhere at Amazon, and will have to "chat" tonight again.

Do you all think Amazon is now intentionally delaying book reviews for books not purchased from them? Or is it a computer problem? Or are aliens abducting newly posted NetGalley reviews, analyzing them for signs of intelligence, and then placing them back in the Amazon review network? :)

Sunday

P.S. For anyone who does not know, they do not allow help e-mails any longer for non-order type questions, and don't have the "review" choices any longer. (Amazon obviously sees reviews as not as important as they once saw them.) After you choose "contact us" and choose all the "non-order" selections, you have the options of chatting or phoning. I always chat. Does anyone phone about reviews? If so, how helpful is that?
