Welcome, Erin! Great to have you with us!

Well, its going to be near 90 on Tuesday and Wednesday, here in Pittsburgh, so I'm not feeling very fall-like at the moment. Cooler after that, I hope!
Looking forward to zucchini bread, honeycrisp applesauce, and some chili, though. Perhaps an apple pie for the freezer.

Sounds like a great idea!

I got the book yesterday and we will look to start the discussion on October 1st, if that works for everyone.

I can host if no one else is interested.

I've ordered Scared Stiff from the library. The one by Annelise Ryan.

I see that Scared Stiff is available from my library, but Pumpkin Carver is not. I will be in for Scared, that that is what we decide.

I apologize, but I am just not into this book and will have to pass until our October discussion. Sorry, folks!

I've been very busy lately, though I managed to renew Crossways, and hope to get back to that. I'll have to see if I can find a fall-themed suggestion to add to the mix.

I'm not going as quickly as I'd like with this--things are very busy for me this week, but I will catch up.

If you've read the previous books, what can you say about the relationship between Jesse and Emma, investigation wise. He seems to appreciate her involvement, which seems unusual to me, especially given the time in which the book is set.
I am enjoying that Emma is "voicing" her thoughts about what she finds, clue-wise, and what they mean to her.

Don't worry about my not being as far as you. It didn't really spoil anything!

I didn't even know there were others in the series, other than a brief mention by Emma earlier in the book.

I'm afraid I'm not that far into it yet.

I ordered Haunted House Murder from the library, but there are only 9 copies and 16 people on the waiting list, so I can't say whether I'll get this in time.

I also had a bit of difficulty getting into this, and I'm not sure why. After all, we had a dead body right off the bat, and that is always recommended!
I'm further into it now and things are looking up. We have another body, though no one really in the way of a suspect.

I'm not nearly as far into this book as I hoped to be at this point. I do like the setting--Newport and Emma's foot in both society and the newspaper business, though.
And the body on the beach reminded me of Have His Carcase from Dorothy Sayers than anything from Christie.

Looks like the hurricane is bypassing you, Tina!

It sounds now like most all of Florida will be affected at some point or other. Are you at all inland?

My copy of Crossways came in today! I am surprised, but pleased.
