ok so here's who I think WONT die (like most confident they wont to least):

max (if they wanted to kill her, they would have in st4 and gave her a proper death. if they kill her in st5, it would be anticlimactic)

dustin (the actor who played his mom isn't in season 5, and unless they came up w something, I don't think they would kill him w out his mom being there to react, if that makes sense )

will (he's gone through sooo much, it would be so unsatisfying if all of that just ended in his death. ALSO, not concrete proof at all, but if they killed him it would be disappointing bc they would be following the "bury your gays" trope, which is popular in mostly old horror, where they kill the gay person)

hopper (they already had a fake out death for him so like)

el (a lot of people say shes gonna die, and I thought it was plausible until I saw a post on tumblr...they said that from a narrative stance, it doesn't make any sense for el to die. people say that she will and it'll parallel when she "dies" in st1, but you cant end a story where it starts)

steve (I just don't think they will bc he was originally supposed to die before they decided to keep him and give him a character arc.)

thank youuu he has some amazing and funny moments, but overall he's just not the kind of character i like...

i hate billy, i see WAY to many edits of him…like yeah i get it dacre montgomery is conveniently hot but the character is a racist abuser

(spoilers for st4 but i’m sure everyone has watched it)

i cry sm at eddies death 😭 the writing and acting is just incredible. my younger brother will just randomly quote it or start playing the clip to mess w me lmaoo

so many but my favorite is mike ! i love him honestly, and he’s really misunderstood by the general fandom. i think he’s a really well written and played character, and i’m so excited for season 5 to show more of his character arc!
but my others are max, robin, will, and lucas
