12599 An ice road for bootleggers I guess, and trouble makers. Not a ice road for trucks like in the north. It is rarely gone on by foot anymore in winter, ice fishing events, polar-bear swimming (not bears, people dipping in ice cold water event) and there are no bootleggers anymore, that's it's history though.

12599 You live near mountains? Sounds like a better place than here for excitement. Here the river freezes over and then it becomes a winter ice road for cars going across the boarders to the United States. That is known as not safe, but the river is the the biggest thing dividing the two countries. Summer it's boating and for tourists or local's it's excellent. My city is known as the City of the Thousand Islands, it's more of a small town, and even though there's more than a thousand islands in the river.

12599 I went to Victoria for six months, a decade ago, and it was a nice winter weather in B.C. I must say. That was a winter way nicer than Ontario. We get cold for November to March, and lots of snow in Ontario. I'm on the St. Lawrence river about an hour south of Ottawa . I have a sister on the Maritime east coast and they get even more snow. The Great Lakes get more snow too. It's nice weather now and the snow here in my area is completely going away.

12599 What type of book is this? Is it psychological or fiction? I love books in history, historical/fiction, or studies. I was only 3 in 1974.

Sounds like they listened in to avoid another kind of peer pressure. Maybe they needed help? then again Maybe that person just lost interest? Do you think they just ask hoping to make eye contact then felt dumb asking you out of the blue if you were well? Sounds strange, but not all people are good conversationalists, some clam up after they begin to feel shy.

12599 In historical stories you would make up characters and a story to be in a well known point in history. Your story could explain events that are unclear to historians if you do enough research on your own.
I think a doctor might publish a story not containing names they wish to protect, it could be a real experience or illustrating to a point, but it generally gets a straight line in the story if they block out their patients to the public but use their stories.
A real story from your personal life into a story usually is a journal. Instead of a diary where you are hiding facts and events for personal record. Some writers have used journal or letter formats for the story they wrote to create a realistic atmosphere, a famous example is the letter style in Bram Stoker’s novela Dracula.

12599 Well there are a number a created writing contest groups that have topics to choose from if you are maybe wanting to vent your energy with the likes in the similar theme as your other contenders.

12599 Here's the first short story I wrote and posted on my profile for Goodread, where there are my other stories. Please enjoy and don't mind my sloppy writing skills, I'm no perfectionist.

12599 Awesome! And I'm not trying to snub you; I think you had a legitimate point. There has been little to show why our group exists. Personally I am just getting a feel for the freedom it gives to express personal opinion. Where the amenity is in writing, where it can’t hide or seep through well trained hands.
There really are so many groups that the vastness takes up everybody's time, then then are looking for a group in which they belong with other people then the groups they are in normally.
A specific Goodread group analyses writing, Writers who write its just stuff they are trying to put together. As though writing is an expression, it conveys a free will. When will we become slaves to will? If it were a pen choice where will the final scene come? Blah blah blah, I suggest anyone check it out. Post your stories and get member reviews. There are excellent members in their ever growing group, they have professional critics and writers, just don’t take my word for it and check it out. Become a member.

As for this group, it probably hasn’t a post and review curriculum. It has a get writers interested in writing feel, a if that’s how you feel by all means express a matter de facto writing. I like my personal writing and am expanding on my way of choosing to tell a story. I don’t mind posting stories to be seen. I don’t mind when I lose in the writing contests. I don’t feel suddenly that someone else’s writing was all the way better. And I get to read other writing that I may feel is also good writing. What makes a story good writing? And why did so-and-so write the story they did? Creep into my mind. It’s through envious thoughts, but it’s through curiosity. Curiosity killed the cat, but a cat has nine lives. What was let out that killed the cat? It’s a story.
And check out some of the groups publishing stories as writing contests. There are many now in Goodread.

Awe, awesome perspective.
A dieing group isn't going to make a creative point is it? At the same time there's something needed to give back to other groups.
