I've started Stranger In A Strange Land, a Heinlein novel. It was one of my favorite books in junior high and I'm curious to see how well it holds up over the years. That will be my 4th book for the challenge. I've ben reading 3 others from the Medicus series, but they don't count.

Finished Medicus and bought the next 2 in the series. Sam, I loan them to you when I'm done.
Started Roddy Doyle's The Commitments

Great. Thanks. I'll check it out

I saw a bunch of books by Philippa Gregory in that category. Have you read one? They looked a little Harlequin romance to me.

I'm trying to map out my book list for the challenge, and am having a hard time finding anything interesting for the 15th century.
I may cheat a bit and read Meister Eckharts writings from the 1320's.
Anyone find anything good?
For the 18th century I recommend "Dream of the Red Chamber".
A classic Romeo and Juliet style novel set in China.

So far so good. It always helps to like the main character.

Am on page 60 of Medicus. A novel set in Britain during the Roman Empire. Infinitely better than than that Bovary woman, so all is well

I've read 2 Jonathan Latham books so far. One awesome, the other God awful.
I have now started Madame Bovary for the classics book club that I keep pretending I'm going to really really join this month.
SO I have the future, and a 1990 to the present done. And a 19th century in progress.
