My fault for not doing one of these in July, but I'm here to make up for it. How was August? We're moving to the last few months of the year; I hope you're not too far behind!I was able to knock out two time periods! I filled in 1500-1599 with 'Beneath a Marble Sky' by John Shors. It's a story about the construction of the Taj Mahal in India. For 1950-1969, I actually read two. The first is 'The Things They Carried' by Tim O'Brien, about serving in the Vietnam War. The second is 'Okay for Now' by Gary D. Schmidt about a young boy whose brother is fighting in Vietnam.
Can't wait to hear how ya'll are doing!
...well shoot! Congratulations! At least someone's done it, even if I can't, haha. I'll have to talk to you before I start it again in January. I think it could use some tweaking.
Hey all! We're half way through the year, so 6.5 categories puts you on track. How's it going?
I'm at seven now, so just ahead of pace. I picked out the books that I'm hoping will carry me through to the end and started on on Sunday. Here's to a strong finish!!

I realized my own advice to Marybeth worked as well and I found a Philippa Gregory I might use haha.
Any recommendations for the 1400s? I'm trying to map out my books and it looks like no one has hit that yet.
Happy June, everyone! Time to report on how May went.I'm embarrassed to say I didn't fulfill any new time periods during May! I'm still kind of on track, having fulfilled six of the time periods. I really am trying and I have a 1920s book lined up to read next so there is hope!
How is your progress? Have you read the 5 5/12 books toward the goal to be on track?
Happy Reading!
Alright team! How is it going? We should be through 4 1/3 time periods by now to be on track!I'm personally at 6 completed, but didn't finish any this month! I'm so embarrassed, haha. I'll have to catch up in the coming months to make sure I stay on track! My choices need to be more pointed.
How are you doing?
Katherine wrote: "I read 9 books in January and then 1 each in Feb and March. Eek. But when I finish All the Pretty Horses, I'll be at 7..."I loved All The Pretty Horses! It's so good!
March is done, how are you doing? You should have filled in 3 1/4 time periods to be on track!I've met six time periods now but only added 1700-1799 during March. I'll keep plugging along and I'll get there eventually!
Marybeth wrote: "Finished Medicus and bought the next 2 in the series. Sam, I loan them to you when I'm done.Started Roddy Doyle's The Commitments"
Sounds like you enjoyed Medicus, then. I'm glad to hear it! I wasn't aware it was a series, that's great. I'll have to grab them from you when i can.
Time to check in for February! How many time periods were you able to knock out?I was able to fulfill another two, 1970-1989 and The Future. I used JUST KIDS by Patti Smith and DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth respectively for those.
How did you do in February?

Philippa Gregory has a few books set in the 15th Century. Try THE WHITE QUEEN.
Alexander wrote: "http://www.timetoast.com/timelines/80..."I'll be reading THE ROUND HOUSE too! How was it?
