I'm now reading Keith Donohue's Angels of Destructions. I was at a book club today for it and I thought I had it figured out (I'm only 1/2 way through it) but I suspect I'm way off on it after the discussion.
Regan wrote: "Oh that 44 Scotland Street sounds good! "It was. I truly enjoyed it and hated for it to end. Now I'm reading Valentine's Day is Killing Me.

I didn't like Rabbit, Run. While the writing is wonderful, the characters are not likable at all. They all need a good swift kick where the sun don't shine and they need to grow up. Running away doesn't solve anything. However, I just finished 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith and enjoyed it very much. It's a Scottish version of Tales of the City. It's a quick read. It was originally written as a newspaper serial. It's about the residents in the apartment building at 44 Scotland Street in Edinburgh. I want to know more about these people.

I'm currently reading Bad Blood, Big City by Sean Chercover. It's a quick read and it's good so far. I gave up on Rabbit, Run by John Updike. I found none of the characters worth my sympathy. They were all immature and would rather leave or self-medicate rather than work through their problems. Life is too short to read bad books, so I quit!

I'm reading Rabbit, Run by John Updike for one of my book clubs. I'm not sure what to expect because this is my first Updike novel. I hope I like it.
