I ended up loving this book. Although it was, in my opinion, a mixture of The Red Queen and The Hunger Games, I still loved it! The ending was amazing!!!! I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next. Do you think that Kai is going to betray his brother when/if he finds out why Pei hated his dad and that his dad was lying to everyone about everything?
I am excited to read this book, and interested to see if there is a new and unique story line since other books have done this theme before. I hope that it is something new and exciting!!!
I am finally off of the wait list at my library, so I will be starting this one. I know it's late, but better late than never, right? Hahaha

I always feel weird when everyone raves about a book and I don't like it, but it happens :) Maybe you are right and will like it more when you are in a different mood, but if you don't, oh well, you tried!!!
I absolutely LOVE this book! I agree that it is on the lighter side, but that is why I loved it. This author doesn't do very much "dark" writing and I find it very refreshing! Has anyone here read other books by him? I have read a few others and I have liked every single one so far!!
