This was a little different genre wise from the stuff I usually read. However it was pleasant and the way the author writes is very easy to follow and digest.I read it in about 4 days, which is quite quick for me!
I really enjoyed the parts about his 'original' life, the dreary routine of his dayjob and Calliope (probably my favourite character).
One thing that I did wonder about and I'm sure will be addressed/resolved properly in the sequel, is what happened to the children at the orphanages that were shut down.
Here's a few that I haven't yet read but would like to in 2024:Babel - R.F Kuang
Yellowface - R.F Kuang
Legends & Lattes - Travis Baldree
Nettle & Bone - T. Kingfisher
Morning all, I'm Kareena, 32 years old and am from New Zealand.2023 was a return to reading for me, I used the time to catch up on some of the popular novels of the sci-fi/fantasy landscape.
Next year I'm looking to tackle some of the big names (Sanderson, the rest of Red Rising series, Dune, Terry Pratchett). I'll set my goal at the 20-ish mark as opposed to the almost 40 I've managed to get through this year.
My hobbies are gaming - obsessed with Baldurs Gate 3 at the moment. Also weightlifting, cooking, gardening and walks outdoors.
