@nicki I definitely get your point BUT I think the reason why I did enjoy this book is because it’s on the lighter side. I read dark but I needed a little light in my life. I also think the audiobook helped bring the story to life for me. It might have been a way different experience if I read it.
With that being said, I had a friend ask me if they should read it. I told them to wait for the summer.
It was like an adult fairy tale

I’ve heard of this book but it was not on my radar to read. If it wasn’t for this group I would definitely not have read it. I reserved the e-book and audio from the library. I’m so glad the audio came in first.
It was a delightful listen. I really loved the characters and it was such a feel good story. But now I’m lonely and miss my friends, thankfully there is a sequel coming in September!

The extraordinary life of Sam hell - Robert dugoni
The stars don’t lie - boo walker

An American tragedy - Theodore Dreiser

Hello! I’m Alissa from New Jersey. My reading goal for 2024 will be 40 books (1 book to go this year to hit that!). Between working and volunteering, I don’t have a ton of time to read. I’m in a monthly book club, I will read those 12 books, at least one non fiction and one classic. All other books will be taken from my very long TBR list. I’m in my mid 40s so my newest motto is life is too short to read bad books.
I don’t have a favorite genre although I’m not a huge fan of romance, I will read some sci fi and I’ve learned I’m too old to really get into y/a anymore.
