First like to point out, Marriage break up after 2 years is itself very heartbreaking and tragic. But it is what it is for both the parties peace and happiness. Secondly for the distribution of the assets fair and equitable is always preferable from my perspective. but we also need to consider that the circumstances and some situations which always beg to differ this. Like Is someone being greedy and taking advantage of the situation or not. The background of both the characters, their financial positions. But also need to look after the mental well being of the children, and who can provide the best or is their anyway both the parties can take their turns. Cause when the children are involved their well being is always the most important. I think these should also be always forefront while discussing the distribution of the assets.

And I think the book has done perfect job showing all these aspects and ended it up without giving a perfect solution but let the readers be open to think of this. Though in the book we can easily comes to conclusion who's bad and Who's good, in real life it becomes more difficult to judge. So the legal system should take their time before give the verdict.
