121177 I was all down for the Book Olympics being something I could actually win until I saw the word 'race'! I really like all those ideas though especially the Scavenger hunt and shelving races!
This week I finished two books about immortality Eternal Life and How to Stop Time and I'm going to start Only Killers and Thieves which seems pretty intense. I finally got A Bollywood Affair on the holds shelf though so hopefully I'll have it started soon too!

121177 I loved Little Golden Books and Goosebumps as a kid! I was also a huge fan of James Howe Bunnicula series of books. I was obsessed with any book about animals basically, so a huge childhood favorite of mine was Watership Down. My very favorite though was an illustrated copy of Hound of the Baskervilles (which I read due to my aforementioned animal obsession and was pretty disappointed in the amount of actual hounds in the book) which was the first chapter book I read totally on my own and spurred my lifelong love of Sherlock Holmes and mysteries in general.
I have reread all of these as an adult and I felt like they stood up pretty well, but in my opinion a book is always bigger and grander when you loved it as a child.
I have such fond memories of reading and books in general from being a kid, it was nice to revisit those as an adult for this post!

121177 My goals this year are to read 125 books, and to read more graphic novels and actually start reading manga! I've never read any so it'll be fun to dive into something new. I'm also going to try to read more of my own books instead of getting tons of books from the library, but that probably won't happen!
