I am really looking forward to Ernest Cline's "Armada". I've already pre-ordered the audiobook read by Wil Wheaton, just as he did for "Ready Player One"
If you haven't yet listened to "The Raven Boys" by Maggie Stiefvater as read by Will Patton, he is simply captivating. In fact, I'd recommend you check out any of the books he's narrated.

I would probably memorize the complete Chronicles of Narnia. Viewed as an entire epic, it feels like a classic that would stand the tests of time and be relevant to all generations. This past week I dipped my literary foot into the first two Sherlock Holmes stories. I think popular culture has put Sherlock Holmes on such a large pedestal, I had very high expectations of the novels. I have still been enjoying them, and reading through the classics has given me a deeper appreciation for the many re-imaginings that are aired today.

What did you think of Daredevil? I haven't watched it yet, but I love that they put the whole season out at once so I can binge it in a weekend.

I started listening
and am about a third of the way through it. It's very dark. I don't know that I'll be picking up any more John Sandford books after this one; it's just not my taste. I'm also continuing to read through
. It's a little cheesy on the romance side (but they usually always are aren't theY?) I like the far future science fiction aspects of the book too though, so it's a good mix that keeps me reading.
I finally started Mercenary Instinct, as my first Romance novel. It's a little cheesy, but reminds me a little bit of Firefly. I'm only about 10% into it, but it's holding my interest enough to keep reading to see what happens. I'm also listening to The Maze of Bones. I suppose YA audio books that I've picked up from some Humble Bundles might be one of my guilty pleasures. Sometimes I like reading mysteries that don't require deep thinking.
I can't think of any books yet that I would consider a guilty pleasure for me. However, I am about to start my first Romance novel so I can complete the bingo square. So who knows, that could become a guilty pleasure, but then, I'll never tell.

Although I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, I picked up American Gods since it is supposed to be quintessential Gaiman.

I am reading 3 audiobooks right now: one for lunch, o..."I know what you mean Pattie. My wife convinced me to start the audio book method late last year and I've been addicted ever since.
I finally finished reading "Traction" by Gino Wickman, since it was encouraged reading for me at work. It wasn't a bad book, but I am much happier now reading "Night Circus" (Thanks Liz!). I started cataloging all the e-books I own so I could try and scratch off some more bingo squares. It's been very time consuming though because they are stored with several different sites. I wish there was an easier way to link them all with Goodreads, and even see them in a digital bookshelf so I can judge them by their covers!
Liz, just thought I'd mention that just this morning storybundle.com just released a bundle of 13 time-travel e-books for only $14. Maybe you'll find a new author and check off that block on your bingo card! :-D
I have the sequel "Golden Sun" but I've been holding off on reading it until closer to the release of the third and final book.
Liz, once again I find myself recommending "Red Rising" by Pierce Brown. It definitely fits the bill for distant future, and is about the same length as Night Circus (which I will be reading next). If you've read Ready Player One and Ender's Game and liked those, I'm sure you'll like this.
I have picked up several book bundles (both e-text and audio) from humblebundle.com and storybundle.com. They have been great for me because they have introduced me to so many new authors and types of books I may have never picked up to read. The best part of it has been that many of the books are the first books in a series, which I can than continue reading through the library. They change every couple of weeks, so if you are stuck in a rut, it's a great way to get into some new authors without even having a cover to judge.
I just finished "The Raven Boys" audiobook yesterday and really enjoyed it. It was endearing to hear Will Patton do all the voices especially the little old psychic. I'm also continuing the John Carter series in book 4. I'll be starting "The Perfect Storm" audiobook this week too.
