Mm, I totally understand that; sometimes, we want to be seen for once and get people to actually care. But other times, when people start to notice the sadness and tiny cracks within us, we hide away and wave them off, for fear of being noticed.

It's a bit of a paradox, isn't it? But don't worry about sound "pitiful" or sad, because yk what, Jessica? YOU matter too, not just that person who wants to draw the attention back to herself all the time. You sitting back shows that you don't crave attention greedily, though you DO want some-- some love and care, at least. Which is COMPLETELY warranted/well deserved on your part. Just remember: YOU MATTER! AND SO DOES YOUR MENTAL HEALTH <33333333333333

Ohmygosh yess, ik people like that. Sometimes they get so self-conceited and think they can best you in everything, just because they can't deal with the fact that someone may have smth better/be better than them.

Ik it's hard to keep your temper at bay; trust me, I have to deal with a girl like that every. stinking. day, but just remember that yelling at them will do them no good. Instead, maybe RATIONALLY tell them, "hey, you don't need to come back at me with a comment about 'your ___ is better'" or wtv.

Ugh, I'm so sorry that happens to you, though. I can totally empathize.

My cousin was going through the same thing. She wanted to go to a rly good college, but her parents guilt tripped her into saying it was wayy too much money. They said she could go if she really wanted, but they were kinda reluctant to say that. In the end, though, she chose that college, even though it was twice the price of another college of her choice.

What I'm saying is, it's ok to feel terrible and guilty about spending sm money on college; it's normal. And heck yeah, college in the U.S. is superrrr expensive, but then again, college in general is pretty expensive. But it's gonna be 4 years of your life, maybe more, and it's a determining factor of your career. I think you should go for it. I don't mean to sound inconsiderate of your mom. I KNOW she's so caring and loving and tries so hard to give you and your sib the best. But at the same time, KNOWING she wants the best, she'll be happy you decided to go to where YOU want. Prices can be dealt with later, yk? Just focus on the NOW.
