i wonder how panem came to be we need a prequel novel to the hunger games to understand more about the capitol's rising.

i believe that they both were wrong to kill each other since they are both merely human and what good does revenge bring. remember two wrongs don't make a right!

peoplke what do you think about the slaughter of the capitols innocents by the two powers in the series? do you think it was right or is the saying "two wrongs do make a right" a wives tale?

i can enlighten that she killed people she hadn't known if she would have been helped by then in the capitol. what if the peoples of the capitol were suprresed by Snow like in the last hunger games when they rioted and were retaliated to in their own district.

thank you for your comment professor. now what about the innocent peoples of the capital who are forced to die with out knowledge. the people are killed by Katniss who could have helped them free the districts of an evil tyrant like president snow.

a way for a peaceful revolution would be to petition for the impeachment of presidents that disgrace the constitution of our fathers. just imagine a country where you are put on a routine you must follow by governmental force and you lose your liberty for this broken corrupt government. this destroys are bill of rights and every thing we patriots fought for.

Emily pretty much every one over looked a principle known as the golden rule " do unto others what you would do unto them" this is what Katniss Everdeen lacked at that particular moment.

The government now days is very corrupt since Obama has denounced our constitution i believe the president should be impeached. he might even take away our civil rights and this is a part of our liberty which includes; freedom of the press, freedom of religion, right to bear arms, and the right for a fast speedy trial.

Now this is very far over the line since we don't need a big brother who is watching. we have Obama to deal with.

They all know the line within their own boundaries which humans don't like crossing. that is watching the death of a fellow human who you probably known. example: watching the death of prim in the explosion which the president of 13 did.

sacrifice for the common good. this is what stories need fight for the oppressed and defeat the oppressors.

hey this system of government is just absolute monarchy. snow is very overrated and is very much like a emperor palpitine from star wars. And Katniss is luke skywalker with the rebels.

at least they got to eat. :)

The things that occur in the hunger games that is most effective today is warfare. warfare takes many lives fighting against or for the oppressed people.

what a great article with some good input! The Hunger Games Trilogy is very like the roman empire era, since the gladiators fight to the death in gladiatorial contests this is then very like the hunger games because they are hungry for spilled blood. thanks professor Amy! :)

I believe the most relevant issue in our world today is the fight for freedom versus the oppressors which in modern world words is called warfare. The oppressed thousands of years ago was the bible lands which during the roman empire controlled much of the western half of Europe, Asia, and Africa.
