I'm currently a junior in college, majoring in Political Science and History. My goals at the moment are to either a) attend law school after my undergraduate degrees are finished and become a lawyer, hopefully a constitutional lawyer, or b) work at a liberty-oriented think tank/research institute/organization where I could help assist in spreading the ideas of liberty. I'm currently scouring the web for summer internships so any help would definitely be greatly appreciated!!!

I would especially argue the surveillance in light of the recent NSA scandals. In addition, the propaganda campaigns put forth in order to ensure that the citizens maintain a blind faith in their rulers (e.g. the softball questions asked during Sunday's 60 Minutes interview with NSA directors).
Going to college in West Virginia and seeing how the town of Huntington (where Marshall University is located) has lost the luster it had for several decades is eerily reminiscent of the setting of District Twelve in Appalachia. Poor tax policy has led to the collapse of industry in the region, and its effects are visible.

SPOILER ALERT: The various parts of Catching Fire when Katniss and Peeta go on tour. Seeing the people begin to rise up and no longer accept the repressive authority they have known throughout their lives is an inspirational message. It has a "People Power" feel to it.
