I think this could be fun to discuss, but not many agree. So sad. I would dearly love to hear what my 1964/65 classmates in HS's I attended read in those days. I went to Halsey in Rego Park , NY (JHS 157 Q), Rye HS, Rye , NY, D-Y (Dennis-Yarmouth Regional HS Cape Cod, Joel Barlow HS. Redding, CT. If you went to ANY of those say hi and IF YOU READ any 1960's TITLES add your titles.
THanks

Well, seems as if no one in 60's HS read. I did. Must be a few out there. I recall with great joy that we did NOT have to read YA books. I perceive YA as heavily euphemized or censored. I read everything! I blame my father who did the same. I suspect he would, though, have been horrified by some of my choices. But...because he left what he read lying around, I read quite a bit of what he read.

It sure is! How banned books did you back then? please bring some action to to this group. "Dirty Books".... circa pre-60's included. I know I personally read some fine smut back then.

I wonder about genres today. Especially YA. We didn't have that genre if I recall.
Janice wrote: "Is this group still going?"You and I can still keep it alive. I have some very firm views on our generation and am going to write something on them soon on my site on "Medium". I read everything. Maybe the group could use a better name. Any ideas?

Shall I change the name to make it easier to find?

Very few.rules.If a book was "adult" - say so first. If you hated it or loved, say so. This gives folks a chance to decide if they are interested in joining. Ask about a subject if you're not sure, because I'm not. Would you read again? Did it impact your thinking when you got older.n. Does it still? I loved everything but westerns and a certain genre of British authors. I loved non-fiction too. Almost any subject that informed me. I read ALL the time.
