50x66 Yeah Drizzt is one of the classic "Sword & Sorcery" series out there. But Drizzt is a Dark Elf, which is normally an Evil race (in the context of D&D), but he's actually more like a Lawful Good Rogue/Blademaster, and he spends much of the books waxing philosophical about the nature of good and evil. In between sweet sword fights and shit, of course.

50x66 Sounds very old. Weren't those novels like super popular in those days, they've just been lost to time? I remember one of my profs saying something along the lines of "The novel was originally written by women and intended for women, and was seen by men as frivolous". Might be wrong, it's been a long time since I was in school.

Last few 5 stars were the last Murderbot novel, because they are hilarious and amazing (and also sort of detective novels, by the way), and then Tehanu by Ursula K Le Guin, which was extremely moving to me.
She published the first three Earthsea books in the late 60s and early 70s, and then wrote Tehanu 18 years later. The main character is a woman who was basically the High Priestess of this Doom Cult and had a hand in doing some world changing shit in the previous books. But then she turned away from her powers and status and decided to get married to some farmer dude on some faraway island. She just wanted a normal life. This book picks up after her husband dies and children move away and she's just trying to do good in the world while being a normal person. It's basically Le Guin talking about what makes a life important and the beauty in living a simple life as a good person. It's really amazing, especially in the Fantasy sphere, where everything needs to be balls-to-wall epic all the time. Highly recommended, but of course you also need to read the first 3 Earthsea books and also be an older person because kids just won't get it.

50x66 WoT was my Uni series, I was able to do about 1 a month, especially the later ones when they are easily 800+ pages. I'd definitely break up the whole thing with palate cleansers, something shorter and easier to follow. For that I used the R. A. Salavatore Drizzt series, good clean D&D fun. Actually... I should read the next books in the Drizzt series, I bet there are tons more now

50x66 Hey all, did everyone make a reading challenge this year?

I managed to hit mine with two days to spare last year, pretty proud of that.
