Has anyone been keeping up with the Kenobi show?!?! It’s sooooo good!!! I love that Hayden Christensen is finally getting the proper respect he’s always deserved. I’m loving what Devorah Chow has done with the show thus far.

For me, work has been so demanding this week but I’m choosing to smile and have a peace of my mind by diving back into reading. Thanks Charles Harris lol
But how is everyone doing?

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. Today I wanted to discuss some crazy power ideas that you would like portrayed by the following gods or goddess:
Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Hestia, Hera, and Demeter, Persephone.
I'll start. I would love to see Hades in a battle and as he stabs a bad guy, his soul leaves his body, but Hades grabs the soul and puts it back into the body of the bad guy to resurrect him and repeatedly do this process to frighten those around him. Cause agony for the bad guy who will feel Hades' wrath.

I hope everyone is doing well. I thought today I'd ask for everyone's favorite Greek God or Goddess and the reasoning why? Also how do you imagine your favorite God or Goddess being portrayed in today's media.
I'll start. My favorite god has to be Poseidon, God of the Seas. I imagine him being portrayed as this bi-polar god who's moods are evident by how wild the sea is. I can see him being a fouled mouth cursing god who's always out to prove himself due to him living in the shadows of his two more famous brothers, Hades and Zeus.

You know I can't really disagree with that! She is a warrior and queen of the amazons. I know in the comics and movies she is the daughter of Hippolyta. I could even compare Wonder Woman to the goddess Athena because she is a goddess of wisdom and war. But you can see the comparisons between iconic superheroes and gods and goddesses of mythology. It's just frustrating for me that we don't get any proper storytelling about the Olympian gods themselves. The closest lately has been the Percy Jackson series but that story falls into the demi-god storytelling narrative. I want the gods to have their own time to shine in the light.

I hate when they americanise the beauty behind these classical characters but that's another argument in itself lol. I believe ALL of DC's main characters are a rip off of Greek Mythology characters. For instance:
Zeus = Superman
Hades = Batman
Hera = Wonder Woman
Poseidon = Aquaman
Flash = Hermes
Artemis = Artemis
Ares = Hawkman
Hephaestus = Cyborg
There could be an argument about Shazam! being like Zeus but in this context all these characters of DC, their power and persona at times mimic these larger than life mythology characters.
I wish these characters in Greek mythology would get movies or stories focused solely on them. The way Marvel has developed Loki and Thor is EXACTLY, in some ways, of how I would develop these characters. They are very relatable, even if they're gods. Humans come from the gods in Greek mythology so personality traits would be conceived in us humans. So these gods I think could be very relatable if the story was done right. Ok rant over lol

I've been having this healthy debate lately with a few of my friends and I tend to argue that superheroes today in all medias were inspired by the gods in mythology. It doesn't matter which mythology but you cannot deny the influence of the gods on the tales of some of these superheroes. My question for you all today would be:
What superhero would you match with the gods of mythology?

It's been very difficult to sit down and read anything recently because I just started up my book company and just published my first book which is part of a massive universe and series. My company website is in the group info of this group. I've created this massive universe where I will have books on Greek mythology, Egyptian mythology, sci-fi, fantasy and more and its intertwined into a cohesive story, but audiences can pick up any book at any time and follow along. My first story is on the forefathers of Olympus, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon who are thrown back into each other’s troubled lives and they must cast aside their differences to unravel the threads of a perilous mystery of their past.
I do plan on reading something in the summer time once I have everything more settled. You can also check out the photos I uploaded into the group. Its artwork from my book.
But I want to hear more from you guys in the chat. I have a fun discussion topic coming up this week. Topic will be on, 'Are todays superheroes inspired by the myths and legends of mythology gods?'

Hello Charles. It's a pleasure to meet you my friend. You currently reading any good books to date?

It is a pleasure to meet you Michelle. I also live on the East Coast myself. Every time I hear the name 'Meemaw' I instantly think of Sheldon Cooper on the Big Bang Theory lol. Congratulations on your newest grandchild.
