I had such high expectations for this book based on all of the reviews and comparisons to Gone Girl. I will definitely agree that it was nothing like Gone Girl. I also didn't find any of the characters likable; they were all horrible people! Rachel was the only one that I felt sorry for because she seemed to have some kind of mental illness that she needed treatment for. I also predicted what really happened that night fairly early on, which was disappointing, but the confrontation was somewhat suspenseful. I was definitely expecting more from this book. Oh well.

I couldn't get Sheldon out of my head the entire time I was reading. I read this awhile back. It was lighthearted, entertaining, and sweet. I don't think I liked it enough to read the sequel though, since I have so many on my TBR list. Hope everyone enjoys it!

I finally finished and surprisingly loved it! It was obviously well researched and has incredible detail. Since I'm not really a science nerd in the area of space and engineering (more of a biology and human anatomy nerd), i found myself skimming over a lot of the details since i just didn't understand the subject matter. Skimming over these parts didn't take away from the story for me, but I'm sure it added something to scientists who specialize in the field. I loved Mark Watney! He was such a great character and i laughed out loud several times. I don't know how the movie version could possibly do his character justice, despite how great of an actor Matt Damon is. Looking forward to seeing the movie, but I'm sure I'll be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite books of all time! I read it over a year ago, but remember it so vividly that it still gives me the creeps. I was a little bit turned off at first by the fantasy aspect (a bridge just appearing out of nowhere), but I didn't let that stop me from enjoying the rest of the book. I was also confused at first about how the chapters seemed unfinished, but it was just one of the author's many creative touches that added to the overall feel of the book. I hope everyone enjoyed this and was creeped out by it :)

I'm planning to read the shining... I've never read Stephen King and it's been sorting on my shelf for awhile

One of my favorite books of all time! I read it so long ago that i don't remember lots of details. I do remember liking how the story was told through the main character's memory. I also really liked the connection that the main character had with the elephant (Rosie?). Looking forward to reading what everyone thinks!

I'm super busy working full time and i have lots of softball games this week, but i hope to finish
The Husband's Secret and get started on
Still Alice. Happy Reading!

The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie of all time and I have been obsessed with it since I was a kid - I'm even getting a tattoo that is based off of it. I can't believe I've never read the book. I recently bought a 5 volume set of all of the Wizard of Oz books and am just getting started with the first one (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz). I knew it would be different than the movie, but I'm surprised at how different and at all the details they've changed. Can't wait to keep going though!

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda, but I go by Maina. There are just too many Amandas around me and it gets confusing. I am 28 years old (I will be 29 in 2 weeks but I am in denial that it is almost September). I am from Massachusetts and work as an occupational therapist on a rehab unit in a hospital. I came across this group and thought that the challenges would be fun and a lot of the books that have been nominated appeal to me, so I look forward to reading with everyone!
