118012 For this mini-challenge I read The Outlaw Ocean: Journeys Across the Last Untamed Frontier

Much of this book takes place in the waters off the coasts of Asian countries. The stories of the people from those countries and their mistreatment while on these fishing boats broke my heart. No one advocates for them and this book exposed that clearly. Excellent book and very eye opening.

I forgot about this series!! Read the first one but that's it. I should circle back, thanks!

118012 For this challenge I read The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates. There is a sense of "magic" to this book and it's really beautiful and well done. Truly breathtaking and such a wonderful book. Loved it!

118012 For this challenge I read Gilead by Marilynne Robinson. It is a series of letters from a father to his son, knowing that he had his son late in life and will not be there for much of his son's life. It was dense, thoughtful and rich with prose. Not the easiest book I've ever read but very rewarding in the end!

118012 Hello! Melissa from Michigan. I have been a part of a reading challenge group for 2 years on goodreads, but my previous group ended and are not holding a challenge in 2018. So I am looking for a new reading challenge group. I read over 100 books a year. Favorite genres are: true crime, psychological thriller, non-fiction biography and history, horror.
