I'm betting on either a) 'marrying' him, or b) investigating his immolation magic. Possibly both? We know the Hanged Man was interested in Layne's necromancy, it makes sense that that would have been a part of it at least.

I think KD's mentioned that that's a gift specific to Rune's bloodline, so presumably other powerful bloodlines have other abilities. Which I'd love to know more about...

I wondered about this too, but I'm with F; he probably drops Rune off at Lord Tower's tower like dropping him off with a babysitter!
(Or, more realistically, there might be a system where the Companions of Atlantis cover each other's charges when one of them takes a night off. I can definitely see that being a thing. In which case it could be Mayan, or even some other Companion we haven't met on-page yet who keeps an eye on Rune when Brand's away.)

I've so..."
Hi F! I'm so sorry your questions are getting missed - could you link me to one, so I can see where it is and try to figure out why it didn't get answered? (It might just be that KD missed them in the barrage of questions.)
I believe it's said that Brand hooks up with a few people he's met at the Green Docks, but I don't know if he's paying for sex. We definitely don't meet anyone he's slept with. I think it's expanded on a little in the next chapter?

I don't think the specific building has been named...but the angel stained-glass window sounds like it could be pulled from real-life.
Something to ask KD in this weekend's Q&A for sure!

I don't think it was explained in Last Sun. It's an excellent question! Maybe you can ask KD about it in the Q&A on twitter tomorrow :D

I genuinely hope for this.

Rune running out of the house in only his boxers, pausing just long enough..."
Thanks for pointing out the Half House chapter being excluded! Edited this post now, so this is the right place for it :)

Jirvan's entire situation is heartbreaking from start to finish. And a really good example of how people who are your enemies are not necessarily a) bad or b) your enemy because they want to be.
Because he is the enemy. Willing or not, he was party to Max's almost-kidnapping, if he didn't organize the whole thing, which he might have done. That makes him Rune's enemy. But being the enemy doesn't mean he doesn't deserve compassion, and as much mercy as you can give.

I'm running down the names in my head, and I think they might all be physically AND psychologically scarred. (If we assume Lord Tower and Ciaran have physical scars we haven't seen, which I'm willing to bet on.)
Oh, except Queenie! No idea if she has any scars. Although I guess you could argue whatever has her so flustered/scared she only speaks in questions is psychological scarring, or could be?

I've wondered about this too! Biological warfare IS against the Geneva Conventions, but...maybe humans didn't think the conventions applied to non-humans???
Or maybe it was an accidental by-product of some magical working? That would help explain why their healers couldn't deal with it.

We don't, and KD has repeatedly refused to give us a straight answer about it. I suspect it's a very big deal that will be revealed in a later book.

Very cool question, you should definitely ask it in this weekend's Q&A! 'caus I want an answer now too.
My guesses are either;
a) Rune's dad was plenty old-fashioned
b) After the seer made her prophecy about Rune, his dad decided he would need a Companion.
