1179094 I would love to know if any of you are planning to read my "bizarre title" book for this month. OR if any of you found a book with a bizarre title to read from your own TBR list. If you are reading mine, what do you think? If you are reading one of your own, which book did you choose?
1179094 I will be starting the book this evening. I am so happy to hear that many of you are liking the January book choice. :)

I really like the idea of having a check in... I have been so busy with work that I have yet to start the book. I really hope to get started this weekend! I am happy that you really are enjoying the book. :)

1179094 Mirna... I am not sure that I could commit to a Zoom meeting. My work schedule is all over the place, right now Also, I don't believe that all of us could attend. I appreciate the idea, but I don't think it will work well, for me. if you can get others interested, than go for it. ;)

1179094 For the app users, the January group read book is People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry.

1179094 I have noticed that the Goodreads app does not appear to show the chosen books for the month, but they show up on the web version. So let me clarify, for those of you using the app version. The January challenge book I chose is Zombies versus Aliens versus Vampires versus Dinosaurs, by Jeff Abugov.

1179094 I hope you will play along with me and pick a book that meets the challenge of "A book with a bizarre or unusual title". If you don't choose mine, find one from your list that meets the challenge and share it with all of us! Just be sure to make a discussion in the January Books folder, so we can keep it all together. Happy Reading!

1179094 Hey everyone! I hope you all like this book I chose for January's group read. I can't wait to see what you think of it. It's been one I've been looking at for a while.
When you are done with the book, please mark any spoilers on your discussions as spoilers... some of us read slower than others. Also, if you loved the book, tell us why? If you hated it, or have to mark it as a DNF (did not finish), then tell us that, too. Happy reading!

1179094 Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share my reading challenge for this year. When I post the monthly book, I will also post a second bonus book based on the challenge.. it will all make sense, I promise. I really just wanted to challenge myself to read more of my TBR list. (I really have too many just sitting there... lol) You can either read along with me, or choose your own book based on the monthly challenge. So.. here's the challenge list for 2022.

January: A Book with a bizarre or unusual title
February: Red on the cover or in the book title.
March: A book you saw someone reading.
April: A book with less than 200 reviews on Goodreads
May: The first book on my Goodreads TBR list.
June: A book by an author you have never read.
July: A book with a number in the title.
August: A book with a one word title.
September: A book you've judged bad by its cover alone.
October: A book with the words Fear, Shadows, Silent, Wicked, Ghost or
Night in the title.
November: A book from a friend's shelf. (Either Goodreads or real-life)
December: A classic book or a book that you should have read in high school, but didn't.

This is just my list, feel free to make your own challenge list. Or read your own books based on this challenge. I can't see what we can come up with. Maybe we'll all just make our TBR lists a little longer.. lol

1179094 Jenna, thanks for your thoughts. I might do something like this. That could really work if people were good voters. I've got a couple of book ideas for January. Maybe we could work this idea in for February.

1179094 Laurie..I know! there are just so many books on my TBR lists... I'll make a decision by Sunday. I figure I'll post our January book then.
Hey everyone I forgot to say that if you know of a book you really want to read (for January or any month coming up), make a new discussion, and use the title/author of the book as the topic.

1179094 Ashlee...I'm going to put your vote as romance....but as a sub genre romance vs. a contemporary romance. 😉

1179094 Hey everyone! Thank you all for joining this little nerdy book club. I am happy that you all decided to join us!
I have a few books that I've been thinking about reading for January but I can't make up my mind for a group read book.
Sooo... let's take a poll.

Romance?
Sci Fi?
Or
Fantasy?

(Sub genres are okay, too. So if you like paranormal romance, for example, vote for that. )

1179094 Welcome to the Nerd Herd. My name is Amy and I am a book addict. 😉 I am hoping to get this club organized with at least one group read a month. I might do a few books, based on interest. Please be patient with me as I get this thing off the ground. 👍
