(If you would like to find out YOUR Final Girl story, there is a picture of the instructions under this groups photos. Please share your stories!)
1. My weapon is a chair, and I'm fighting Candyman at Summer Camp.
[I give you 50/50 odds]
2. My weapon is a pitchfork, and I'm fighting Freddy Krueger at a gas station. [the gas station is helpful to finish him off with fire or an explosion, but I dont think the pitchfork is doing you any favors]
3. My weapon is a garden hose, and I'm fighting Samara Morgen (from The Ring) in the kitchen.
[Im pretty sure Samara is immune to drowning, so sorry, you're toast]
4. My weapon is a lamp, and I'm fighting Pennywise in a dark forest.
[a lamp in a dark forest; good choice. If it is an oil lamp, I think you might be our first obvious winner!]
5. My weapon is a fork, and I'm fighting Samara Morgen in the basement.
[it was nice knowing you]
6. My weapon is a brick, and I'm fighting Freddy Krueger at the community pool.
[they will find you at the bottom of the pool weighed down by your brick and rule it a suicide. Sorry.]
7. My weapon is a fork, and I'm fighting Samara Morgen at a gas station.
[I mean, you have a better chance than the one in the basement, but still not great]
8. My weapon is a lawn mower, and I'm fighting Jason Voorhees in Disneyland.
[I would pay good money to watch this movie!!!!]
9. My weapon is a chair, and I'm fighting Pennywise in a dark forest.
[my money is on the clown, sorry]
10. My weapon is a steak knife, and I'm fighting Pennywise in a dark forest.
[what is it with Pennywise and dark forests??? At least you have an actual weapon. not good odds]
11. My weapon is a lawn mower, and I'm fighting Samara Morgan in a dark forest.
[she 'does' crawl along the ground a lot, so you have a definite advantage with the lawn mower. As long as you see her coming in the dark forest, I think you survive!]

If it doesn't make sense to you at first, its OK. After the opening, it starts following specific characters one at a time, and it will be a lot easier to follow.
I promise you, there's a reason this book won awards.

This was my favorite book I read this year. It's such a strong memoir! It literally did make me laugh, moved me to tears, AND gave me hope for the future.
