i know!!!! also in carpool karaoke when it was mentioned that jimin and taehyung fight over dumplings my mom, sister and i thought that was so ridiculous and cute! like they have so much money, you wouldn't think they would fight over dumplings haha

okay, but when jimin led the dance class in carpool karaoke *heart eyes* that's when i knew he was my bias

not true i knew he was my bias the moment i heard him sing/saw him dance in the "dynamite" MV. i'm a new army soooooo

Jin in Carpool Karaoke kills me! He is so funny ! Like everything he said was hilarious. I loved how he was all like, "You a funny man!" when James said that he was called Worldwide Handsome too. And when Jin roasted Namjoon for saying that he learned English through Friends, I busted up laughing.

"Well, I've watched Friends too and I can't speak English" I was like ooooopppp!

don't we all love namjoon's thunder thighs??? seriously though namjoon is just so amazing!!!!

Let's be real, all the boys are amazing and BTS wouldn't be the same without all 7! I just love their group dynamic! Like on Carpool Karaoke, I just loved how they interact with each other!

I won't be super active this week because I have state testing as well as my my usual heavy course load this week, so I AM DYINGGG

*BTS Updates*

Sorry if you guys already know about this stuff!

- McDonald's (the fast food chain) is releasing a BTS meal, similar to the Travis Scott and J Balvin meals from last year. It's launching on May 26 if you're in the US, Canada, or Brazil, or May 27th in South Korea. If you don't live in these countries, don't worry! The meal will go on sale soon after in about 50 different countries across six continents. The BTS meal will include 10 chicken nugget, a medium fries, and a Coke. They're also going to release two new dipping sauce flavors, sweet chili and cajun, in honor of the meal. I know McDonald's is super bad for you, but I thought this was interesting! I wonder if they'll have any special packaging. Maybe when you order it'll say "BTS meal" on the receipt, haha.

- BTS is releasing a new single, "Butter" on May 21, 2021 at midnight EST. This was just announced TODAY! I got this info from a Forbes article. This website also says that they are releasing a compilation album, Bts, the Best in June. I think it's going to have a bunch of their Japanese songs!

- BTS are now Louis Vuitton brand ambassadors! Here's a a Billboard article.

Hi guys! I totally understand that it may be difficult to obtain books for book club reads, which leads to my next question:

Does your local library provide ebooks?

If so, then we can discuss what books are available on our respective ebook platforms and choose books based on that (as well as our YA/new adult contemporary kpop theme).

My local library has ebooks on the CloudLibrary app as well as on Hoopla, so I am able to check out almost any book. I love these apps because it helps me save so much money because there are so many books I want to read but not enough money to buy all of them.

Also, if we do book club reads, we can have two different book club discussions a month. So when we go to vote on the book for the month, the two most popular books will be the ones featured for that month.

This is a general plan for how our book club reads could work:

We'll have two folders. One will be labeled BOTM#1 - Book Title - Month Year and the other will be BOTM#1 - Book Title - Month.
e.g. BOTM#1 - Somewhere Only We Know - June 2021
BOTM#2 - K-pop Confidential - June 2021

*BOTM stands for Book of the Month

In each respective folder, we can have discussions for each chapter of the book, as well as discussions about the ships in the book (if there are any) and any other topics members want to discuss. The reason we will have two book club reads is to maximize the number of participants and to allow people to join in the book club read whenever they want during the month. So if a member cannot obtain one of the books, hopefully the can participate in the other book club read. Also, if a member finishes one of the BOTMs early, they can start the next book and be part of both discussions. As a moderator of the group, I will be reading both books to make sure that there will at least be some discussion if very few people decide to participate.

We can also build playlists for the books that we decide to read, if you guys think that sounds fun.

If you guys have any other ideas, put them here! Also, if anything I said doesn't make sense, just let me know and I will do my best to clarify any misunderstandings!

At the moment, I really really love "Filter" and "We are Bulletproof: the Eternal." But "Fly to My Room," "Life Goes On," "Singularity," "DNA," and "The Truth Untold" are probably my all-time favorites.

But "Answer: Love Myself" is very dear to me because it reminds me that I have value and that I need to love myself before I love anyone else. It has such a powerful message and I just feel happy when I listen to it. Self-worth was, and sometimes is, a struggle for me, but BTS really inspires me to have a more positive outlook on life and "Make It Right" lol. Like, I had this really confident exterior and I always seemed like I had my life together, but inside, I was constantly criticizing my body and pushing myself to academic perfection and I always felt extremely anxious and stressed. I've since learned that there is a difference between trying your best and trying for perfection, because in reality, perfection does not exist. All I can do is work hard, do my best, and learn from my mistakes. Academic success, or success in general, doesn't mean anything unless you're happy. So BTS, and One Direction, for the record, have really helped me to accept myself and just be happy with who I am. Their music reminds me that I have great family and friends and that I'm not alone in my struggles. Hopefully this makes sense.

Sorry that this got really sentimental all of a sudden, this discussion is supposed to be about favorite songs! Anyways, I hope that all of you know that this is a safe space and that we are an ARMY of supportive people, so if you ever want to share anything, feel free to do so or message me!

Love Yourself: Answer and BE are my faves!!!!! Love Yourself: Answer is special to me because it was the first BTS album I had ever listened to and BE just hits different ya know?

My family didn't understand how kpop was so popular in America, so I didn't really start stanning. Then, at the beginning of quarantine, I decided to watch this 30 minute YouTube video that described each of the members and their personalities because I thought, why not? And, because one of my school friends liked talking about BTS and she encouraged me to get into their music. Then I started watching some of their music videos and was AMAZED. I didn't really do much after that. But then in January, my mom bought me the Love Yourself: Answer album, and that's when I started to become true ARMY. Now, my sister and I are both ARMY and it's a lot of fun stanning with her!
