Why do you think that is?
I hate when Jonas' father kills the twin! It is also sad when Jonas' parents don't understand love and say they enjoy Jonas.
I like the Giver. His emotions are so complex and he mirrors Jonas' development.
I enjoyed e symbolism of color and memories. I think we can learn about how to not take things for granted.
I was disappointed in the lack of closure. Hopefully, the other books will help.

Are there allusions in The Giver? Post them here! Hint: Allusions are references to famous people, places, events, times, works of literature, religion, etc. in the book.
I love the memory of family and love because we take it for granted. Jonas doesn't know love until he receives that memory.
I thought that Jonas' best memory was the one of love and family.

it was strange that they did not have romantic feelings for each other. I can't imagine that world.
