I know I haven't been talking much. Just lurking around here and there. Lol. I've been tagged to go back active duty for the US Navy so that's why I've been silent and probably will be silent until next year. Can't really say where I'm going. I just started reading Ready Player Two after I finished One. I'll be reading a lot in the next year. My plan is to finish Harry Potter 4-8 and binge Percy Jackson. I've noticed my favorite books are Young Adult books probably because they are geared more for fantasy and that's my reading level... Lol.

I hope you have a safe trip. Why the move, if you don't mind me asking? My "weekend" started on Friday morning with military duties and didn't stop until Sunday afternoon. Lost quite a bit of sleep.

I read so many good things about Jane Austen and her novels so I decided to give it a try. I read about 10 pages of Sense and Sensibility and it took me 30 minutes trying to decipher the English. That just put me off so much that I gave up. Is there a trick to reading her books? I asked my wife and she said it's old English and shouldn't be put off by it. She said think of reading Shakespeare and how hard that is.

1/25. Lol... The Da Vinci Code.

Sadly, my traditions of going out to DC and/or Florida once a year has stopped due to covid making it tougher. Thinking about it now, most of my made up traditions was about going out to specific places once per year.

@Jennifer: No... Don't read The Enigma Cube. It's not that good. I'm forcing myself to finish it.

Reading The Enigma Cube by Douglas E. Richards.

You should watch it. The series is... I hate to say it... Better than the book.

1. The Queen's Gambit
2. Watched the Netflix series first and loved it. Noticed the book was free on Prime. I'm a slow reader (a book in 2-3 months) and this was a fairly thin book so... Win win win.
3. When she showed interest in chess with Mr. Schaibel.
4. She solved it pretty well - to beat Borgov. I don't think there were other ways to get better at chess. Maybe if she opened up a bit ealier to other players like Benny and Beltik.
5. I have no idea. I know next to nothing about chess.
