1151188 Hi all, I'm Abbas!

In a past life (whilst in college) I was an avid reader, writer, and reviewer. Now I'm--most often--just a tired international teacher. Somewhere in the middle of all this I've lived in Turkey, China, and Thailand and visited 37 countries. ^_^

As a reader I prefer 20th century literature and especially post-modern and migration literature from Europe and the Middle East. However, I now mostly read texts which align with what I'm teaching in some capacity.

Looking forward, I'm super excited about reading more sociology-adjacent texts (prepping for my master's degree) and also reading fiction from South America and Africa. If you have any recommendations, let me know!

Thanks all,

A.

This sounds like a great read. It reminds me of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower -- at least in description. ^_^ I'm curious to know how you like it!

1151188 I just started reading Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita. I'm only one chapter in, but I think it's going to be a fantastic read.
