I've been really nervous about starting "Lean In" because I'm not the biggest fan of "corporate feminism". This author has donated tons of money to anti-choice Republican politicians which is pretty confusing. Sandberg has also been criticized pretty strongly by prominent feminist academics like bell hooks for being pretty blind to issues that WoC face in the workforce.

I haven't seen the show quite yet and I've been enjoying the conversation here on the book. Which would you recommend first? I'm worried I'll get attached to one and hate the other like I did with Bones. There is literally nothing the same about the books and the TV show.

I'd say stability going to be more important for lots of people. As long as I can keep my family clothed, fed, and under a warm roof, I can find things to be happy about. It would be great if one can find a job that offers both satisfaction and the ability to pay for life's necessities though.

*sigh* it's sitting on my library book shelf but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. :(

I wish I could "like" this comment.

Hello, my name is Annie! I try to alternate between fiction and non-fiction and I enjoy reading most things. I was invited to join this group by Emily and I am looking forward to new books and good discussions!
