I also write about 15 books at once. I am a being of chaos....

That's huge! And how do you read so many books at the same time?"
Half are physical, half are kindle, most are less than a quarter of the way in. It's more that I start a ton of books and keep them in a constant competition to see which will capture my attention first and see me all the way to the end, at which point I turn into a speed reader and binge 300 pages in a night.
I can only do one audiobook a time, but I generally have one of those going.
Bookmarks are my friend. With kindle, I do have to be vigilent to make sure I don't space out while switching between books, though, there, a mix-up still generally only happens when the current scenes of both books and the writing voice is similar. (Once I swapped from a historical to a fantasy, both were in the middle of a battle, both authors were using a more omniscient voice, and I got REALLY confused when mermaids started coming out of the sea and joining in. And I think I got two of my current reads a little scrambled as BOTH had a secondary character get introduced while an authority figure is pressuring them into some agreement. One succumbed in-scene, but I kiiiiinda failed to realize that he did 'cause the other character didn't, and the other character's scene stuck out harder in my mind.)
Another thing is that third-person books, where I am constantly seeing the MC's name are very much my preference. I loath multiple first, though, as I can very easily forget whose head I'm in.
My mom used to do the same thing I do, so I come by it honestly? I don't think she was as bad as I am, but I am a being of pure chaos, so ... oh well?
