**THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLY DISTURBING!!**
I felt it necessary to make that very clear early, because if you have a weak stomach or a sweet soul, you may want to catch another one of our group reads. This book is so deliciously disturbing. I consider myself an old hand at upsetting media; I prefer my entertainment to make me squirm. But "Perfect Days" was almost too much for me. I mentioned I couldn't put it down, which might be a little misleading, because there came a point where I had to put the work down, to give myself a little bit of a breather. It's true to say, however, that even when I wasn't actively reading the book, I was darn sure thinking about it.
I don't want to reveal too much too early, so I'll wait for another post to talk more about the plot and the characters and all the details that made this book so good. But, providing you enjoy disturbing literature, check out the book, it is so good!!

I'm an avid reader, and always have been. I mostly enjoy fiction, but every so often I branch out to read Memoirs, Historical Fiction, Biographies, Young Adult and/or Dystopian Fiction, True Crime, Crime and Law Procedurals, Short Stories, Fantasy, and anything else that catches my fancy.
Some of my favorite authors are Darrin Doyle, Larry Drown, Gillian Flynn, and Mark. Z. Danielewski.
My recommendation has been and will always be, House of Leaves, by Mark. Z. Danielewski. This book changed virtually every facet of my outlook on life. I closed the book an entirely new person. It was transformative.
**This book does contain some graphic and sexual violence
For some reviews of a couple of my other favorite books, The Bone Clocks, by David Mitchell, and The Casual Vacancy, by J.K. Rowling, check out the archived version of my very first episode of A Kind Voice on Books.
