31st July is the birthday of one of the most famous and beloved fantasy characters- you guessed it right, it's none other than The Boy Who Lived!

In celebration of Harry's birthday, we have a fun challenge for you! (Let's participate for Harry, okay? The poor boy didn't celebrate for ten years.)
The challenge would run from 5th August to 25th August.
There would be three parts to this challenge-
1. House- based prompts
2. Notable characters based prompts
3. Spell- it-out challenge
PART 1: HOUSE-BASED PROMPTS
Participants would be sorted into four teams, where each team would be one Hogwarts House. Whichever team you're on, you have to do the prompts for that team.
When you sign up for the challenge, mention two preferences for the House teams. We would try to place you in your first preference, but in case there is an imbalance in the number of members in the teams, we'll place you in your second preference team.
The following are the prompts for the Houses:
Gryffindor:

- Read a book with scarlet and/or golden color on at least 70% of its cover
- Read a book with "chivalry" or "courage" in it's title or text. (Mention page no. of the text and the quote where the word is present)
- Read a book where the MC is noted for their bravery
- Read a book with a very determined character
- Read a book with a chivalrous protagonist
- Read a book with a lion on the cover
- Read a book where the element of fire is a major part of the plot
Ravenclaw:

- Read a book with blue and/or bronze color on at least 70% of its cover
- Read a book with "wise" or "learned" in it's title or text. (Mention page no. of the text and the quote where the word is present)
- Read a book where the MC is noted for their intelligence
- Read a book with a very creative character
- Read a book with a protagonist who values originality
- Read a book with an eagle on the cover
- Read a book where the element of air is a major part of the plot
Hufflepuff:

- Read a book with yellow and/or black color on at least 70% of its cover
- Read a book with "justice" or "modesty" in it's title or text. (Mention page no. of the text and the quote where the word is present)
- Read a book where the MC is noted for their hard work
- Read a book with a very kind character
- Read a book with a patient protagonist
- Read a book with a badger on the cover
- Read a book where the element of earth is a major part of the plot
Slytherin:

- Read a book with green and/or silver color on at least 70% of its cover
- Read a book with "wicked" or "pride" in it's title or text. (Mention page no. of the text and the quote where the word is present)
- Read a book where the MC is noted for their cunningness
- Read a book with a very ambitious character
- Read a book with a resourceful protagonist
- Read a book with a serpent on the cover
- Read a book where the element of water is a major part of the plot
PART 2: NOTABLE CHARACTERS-BASED PROMPTS
Gryffindor:

1. Harry Potter- Read a book where the MC is a "Chosen One"
2. Albus Dumbledore- Read a book with a really old but wise protagonist
3. Hermione Granger- Read a book with a "know-it-all" MC.
4. Ron Weasley- Read a book with an underrated sidekick
5. Sirius Black- Read a book with a character who is wrongly accused of a crime
Ravenclaw:

1. Luna Lovegood- Read a book where a character is creative but considered weird by others
2. Filius Flitwick- Read a book where the MC is a professor
3. Gilderoy Lockhart- Read a book where a character is a fraud but has a huge fan following
4. Cho Chang- Read a book with a character who is gifted with both brains and external beauty
5. Quirinus Quirrell- Read a book where a character who seems innocent is actually behind an evil plan
Hufflepuff:

1. Cedric Diggory- Read a book with a brave, honest, and hardworking MC
2. Newt Scamander- Read a book with a character who is an animal lover
3. Pomona Sprout- Read a book with a character who loves plants
4. Nymphadora Tonks- Read a book with a character who has achieved a lot at a young age
5. Helga Hufflepuff- Read a book with a character who is very accepting of others
Slytherin:

1. Draco Malfoy- Read a book with an arrogant character
2. Severus Snape- Read a book with a character who is mean from the outside but is actually quite caring from the inside
3. Lord Voldermort- Read a book from the POV of a villian
4. Horace Slughorn- Read a book with a character who has a big secret
5. Bellatrix Lestrange- Read a book with a female villian
PART 3: SPELL-IT-OUT CHALLENGE
Spell out the following words by reading a book for each letter of the word. The letter can be the first letter of the title of the book, or the first letter in the author's first or last name.
The words are:
- Hogwarts
- Magic
- Wizard
- Witch
- Potion
- Wand
- Spell
SOME IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Prompts cannot be repeated.
2. You cannot use more than two prompts per book.
3. None of the parts of the challenge are mandatory. You can do whichever parts you wish to.
4. There is no particular order in which you must do the parts/prompts. Example: You may first do 3 spell-it-outs, then 1 House prompt, and then 2 character prompts.
5. For the House-Based Prompts and the Notable Character prompts, you must read books for only those prompts that fall under your team's category.
