This is intended to be the first book in a series set in the fictional Long Island seaport town of Port Pristine. Characters from Holly's Jolly Christmas will show up in my next novella, due out in early 2018.

Here's the synopsis:

Holly Sundberg has been a Christmas curmudgeon since she was a little girl, when her father walked out on her family during the holiday season. And when her retired mother makes her annual holiday season visit to their hometown, Holly sees nothing but another humdrum holiday ahead of her.

When Holly’s mother insists on a dinner with some old friends, Holly is reintroduced to her high school classmate Colton Pearcy, who has definitely outgrown his awkward teenage years. Sparks fly, and for the first time in forever, Holly’s feeling a little holiday spirit. But will the revelation of Holly’s role in a devastating high school prank on Colton lead to a lump of coal in Holly’s stocking?
