114553 Greetings All.

My first book (now long out of print) was a guidebook to a little known country in the Middle East: The Maverick Guide to Oman. As the title implies, the series dealt with off the beaten path destinations. I lived in Oman for a number of years and worked as a tour operator in adventure trekking.

My second book, and first work of fiction,Eyes of the Sage is drawn from a number of sources as well as personal experiences leading to a blending of genres and has Oman for the setting.

The story centers on an archeological dig where an astro-physicist is called in to consult on the project after the unfortunate death of the team's lead archeologist. Just why an astronomer is called into a situation where he is evidently a "fish out of water" is not clear, but his participation is not accidental.

The dig involves a lost civilization in the Arabian desert about 3000 years old that thrived for close to a millennium. The society appeared to be led by an enigmatic father figure who surprisingly continued to crop up, as records suggested, throughout the recorded history of the settlement. Some time in it's ninth century, the civilization (and it's intriguing father figure) disappeared after the known collapse of a great earthen dam.

As artifact are recovered and catalogued, the astronomer is drawn into a complex scenario where his very actions will trigger the climatic events and reveal the identity of the mysterious mentor.

The book is available in softcover, Nook and Kindle formats.

Comments welcome.
Many Thanks
