113559 I'm absolutely loving it at this point. I've been busy but I've managed to make it about 70% through it.

113559 I've made it to chapter 10 and it isn't nearly as disorienting now. Still very strange though lol

113559 I just finished the prologue and first chapter and have found the writing style to be a little weird, especially the disjointed narration that feels halfway between first and third person. Also, as a lifelong competitive martial artist, Ive found the fight descriptions to be a little off. I'm interested in where the story is going, but I hope I can overcome these little annoyances.

113559 The random pick will be on Monday but so many people have consigned Black that I thought maybe we could have an alternate pick for those of us who either read quickly or who can't get into the main book. What do you guys think of that idea?

113559 Anna isn't retarded, I was just trying to add the book through code without typing the whole name. She nominates Hella Nation Looking for Happy Meals in Kandahar, Rocking the Side Pipe,Wingnut's War Against the GAP, and Other Adventures with the Totally Lost Tribes of America by Evan Wright

113559 Like Jim Butcher said a premise doesn't make a story. It'll turn out different enough just because its you writing it.

113559 If nobody else suggests anything by Monday I'm not even going to roll the dice on these. Looking like Black might be it lol.

113559 After we get up and running we'll be doing a Deck Rotation style pick but for first pick I think we should all nominate a book and pick it at random. I nominate Sandman Slim (Sandman Slim, #1) by Richard Kadrey so I'll have an excuse to finally read it.
