50x66 Who is mocking Mac? Who is responsible for the jokes? In the book Soccer Scoop, by Matt Christopher, a star soccer player named Mac is known for his excellent way of playing as his over-confident game talk. I would recommend this book to anyone from ten years to twelve years of age as it is a very simple book with not so complex context. I personally was very disappointed at this book because it took no storyline and was at times to easy to understand, making me have a lack of imagination throughout the reading. Matt Christopher is also the author for other books such as Wild Pitch, The Boy that only Hit Homers, and Top Wing, among others. Matt Christopher has won such awards as the 1993 Milner Award, Maud Hart Lovelace Award, and 1992-93 Massachusetts Children's Book Award.

50x66 Can an almost impossible dream become true? The US international goalkeeper, Hope Solo, writes her autobiography from her troubled childhood until her international soccer success. I really liked this book because its main message is that everything is possible with hard work and dedication. I would recommend this book to anyone that is older than twelve because there are certain concepts that would be otherwise harder to understand for younger readers. This book got third place for New York Times Bestseller, the highest ever for a soccer book. "A goalkeeper cannot win a game. She can only save it."-Hope Solo, Hope Solo: My Story

50x66 "Rules are made for breaking." In the Middle School series, by James Patterson, a boy named Rafe unfortunately faces the worst years ahead of him: Middle School. He chooses to make his next years fun for him, and break every single rule in the Hill's Village Middle School rulebook. I really enjoyed this book because every single page was filled with humor. I would recommend this book to anyone in middle school because you would find this book extremely funny and could relate to the characters in the story. James Patterson is the author of the Alex Cross series, Private L.A., Treasure Hunters, among others. "A perfectly pitched novel" - Los Angeles Times

50x66 Have you ever been struggling to belong? In "The House on Mango Street",by Sandra Cisneros, a girl named Esperanza struggles to belong in acity where her heritage follows her everywhere. I really liked this book because it is a bout a girl that doesn't belong, while also tries to find her identity. I would recommend this book to anyone older than 12 years of age because this book challenges you to think beyond what you are reading. "Cisneros draws on her rich Latino heritage... and seduces with precise, spare prose, creating unforgettable characters we want to lift of the page.- The New York Times Book Review.
Sandra Cisneros is also the author of Caramelo, Has Visto a Maria?, El Arroyo de la Llorona, among others.

50x66 Have you ever had to make a decision that could either kill or save you? Have you ever been part of something so great that you could change the course of history? Have you ever been in the situation when everyone is counting on you to save the world? If the answer is yes to all these questions, then you might be a demigod. This book is about a boy named Percy Jackson that has to defeat the army of the Titan Lord Kronos to stop an invasion of monsters in Manhattan(and eventually the world) and a possible takeover of the Olympian gods. I liked this book because there are a lot of events that are so thrilling, that will make you want to read this book more and more. Riordan has won Best Fiction Book for Children(2013), Author of the Year(2011), Mark Twain Award(2008,2009), and a lot more. "The fourth book of the Percy Jackson series is the best one yet"- Kirkus Reviews
"You shall delve in the darkness of the endless maze,
The dead, the traitor, and the lost one raise,
You shall rise or fall by the ghost king's hand,
The child of Athena's final stand.
Destroy with a hero's final breath,
And lose a love to worse than death."

50x66 What would you do if you had to face a bullet-proof lion? How would you react if you had to fight a God? What if you were going on a dangerous quest in which you are most likely to die? This is what half-bloods have to face every day. This book is about a half-human, half-god that goes on a quest to save the Goddess Artemis from the Titan Atlas. I liked this book because it has thrilling events and heart-stopping moments that will make you want to read more and more. I would recommend this book to people between the ages of 10 and 16 because of the fighting parts during the quest. Rick Riordan combines Greek Mythology with modern life in almost all his books. Riordan has written the Heroes of Olympus (series), Percy Jackson and the Olympians (series), and The Kane Chronicles (series). Riordan has also written The 39 Clues series along with other authors.
"Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and hunters combined prevail,
The Titan's Curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish from a parent's hand."

50x66 This story is about a boy named Stanley that is under a curse of bad luck that started with his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig stealing-great-great-grandfather. His most recent bad luck event is being wrongly accused of stealing the shoes of a famous baseball player. Louis Sachar has written other books like Small Steps and Kidnapped at Birth. This book has won the Newberry Medal and the Young adult Novel of the year. I would recommend this book to everyone because it may talk about things that you have lived through or are living in. I liked this book because it is very ironic and it has a big meaning throughout the story. "A smart jigsaw puzzle of a novel."- The New York Times Book Review

50x66 This book by Gordon Korman(author of Macdonald Hall,One False Note, Toilet Paper tigers, No More Dead Dogs, and much more)is a book about a boy named Griffin Bing who plans a sleepover on an old house before its demolished. He invites many people in his grade but only his best friend, Ben Slovak, shows up. while Ben is sleeping, Griffin goes exploring the house and opens an old drawer at random. When he looks inside, he finds an old Babe Ruth baseball card that looks original. Hoping it may be valuable, he takes to a pawn shop owner called S. Wendell Palomino. He lies to Griffin and Ben claiming it to be a replica, giving the boys $120 for the card. Griffin soon realized that his parents were very short on money and they were going to have to sell their house and move to another one, separating Griffin and Ben. Later, Griffin sees Palomino talking on tv about how he was going to sell a baseball card, Griffin's baseball card, for millions of dollars. Griffin realizes that he got lied to and decides to steal the card from Palomino. He has to recruit a group of friends to help him get the card back. Will he succeed or will he have to move away from his town, friend, and life? I really liked this book because it keeps you thinking about what is going to happen next and I couldn't stop reading until I was done. I would recommend this book to those that are between 6th grade and 8th grade because of terms you may not understand and a little bit of cruel humor. Gordon Korman has won awards such the Air Canada Award for promising authors in Canada, 2003 Pacific Northwest Library Association's Young Reader's Choice Award, 2011–2012 Charlie May Simon Children's Book Award, and much more.
