Ryan only had a split second to react so se let herself fall to the floor, landing hard but making herself get up. "Obviously, you don't care. And why would I even if you didn't just do that?" She asked, gritting her teeth hard and firing another arrow, in a crouch ready to attack. She could already feel bruises blooming from the fall but she ignored them; they were problem for another time.

"I was once. Before the witches ruined it." She hissed after falling, pushing herself back up and running up to a tree, launching herself up and getting ready to shoot, firing straight at him. "Again; you glorify yourselves without understanding the other side. I know I'm the villain in this. But that doesn't mean that you don't have blood on your hands either."

Ryan just cackled and shoved it away, kicking him square in the chest and aiming her poison arrow straight at his heart. "Oh so you're just ignoring all of the things witches have done to humans? How convenient for you." She drawled. "Good luck killing him though; is it even possible to kill demons?" She wondered, her gaze steely and determined. "You see, in this situation, who's the one attacking first? You. Have I killed those of your kind? Yes, of course. But have you also killed those of mine? Yes you have. So how about you drop this little superiority complex you clearly have."

Ryan immediately smacked his hand away and rolled her eyes. "So we're going to act like I've never heard this speech before? You say that we're unnatural but here you are with these powers that not even years of"myths" and "stories" can factually explain. And I doubt it, but I guess they can try." She said, snark going 1/2 power. "Is there a point to this or are you just here to skip around trying to intimidate people?"

Ryan immediately stiffened and drew an arrow, nocking it straight at the figure. "Two people who were having a splendid day without you barging in." She snapped back, scowling. She really wasn't in the mood for this... or maybe she was. Thinking about the past made the rage inside her bubble and boil and she couldn't help but think that this was the perfect opportunity for her to release it.

"No, it's fine." She assured him, tapping her foot on the ground; a nervous habit. "We were walking around our village when the witches attacked. I, being reckless decided to go try to save someone, and I did. But he got hit instead of me... and I couldn't hold him while he died because I had to go take the kid we saved and hide... his last words to me were "Run." And you cannot say that it wasn't my fault this time, right?" She asked, smiling a humor-less smile.

She shrugged keeping her face calm while she took a walk through memory lane. ”He was intelligent. The smartest boy I had ever met; much smarter than me, so I got competitive since I've always been headstrong and had a thirst to be the best. I still am and I still do, a d that got us into a lot of trouble. He never liked crowds and usually came off as haughty though he could never be like that if he tried; he was just quiet. Quiet and very socially awkward.” She reminisced, a wistful haze in her startling icy eyes. ”Sometimes I think about what he could’ve become and how all the people who underestimated would only be able to watch as he proved them wrong.”

Ryan just looked him straight in the eyes. “Don’t pity me. Please.” She added as an afterthought, her tone temporarily stony. “And I’m twenty; I’ve had a good amount of time to let it go.” She said but left out the part where she still hadn’t done that. Even though it was 6 years ago, she couldn’t forgive and she’d probably never forget.

Caspian followed his gaze up to the sky with a content expression on his face. ”Yes, it is.” He replied happily. ”Hey Diego? Tell me something about yourself.” He requested, his gaze still locked with the stars. ”Something I don't know yet please. I want to learn as much as I can about you.”

”Your welcome Puppy.” Caspian spoke after a moment of brushing his thumb against Diego’s cheek and just enjoying the moment. He was done with constantly wondering why he finally got to have Diego. Now he could finally just as enjoy his time with him as much as possible; there was no point in always thinking about how he’d probably find someone better. He laughed and threw his head back a little as a thought entered his brain. ”Wow, we really are cheesy aren't we?” He asked in between giggles.

“I think so, well as much as a fourteen year old can.” She murmured and laughed softly. “Are you alright there?” She asked with an eyebrow cocked, her lips curved up slightly in a smirk.

Ryan complied with her knees brought up to her chest, tracing his face with her gaze as he looked outside. He definitely knew she was, but she didn’t mind, she just likes to look at him. “Him. Kean Morrigan; just fourteen at the time of death.” She answered, her voice strangely monotone. “First time I fancied someone.”

Ryan thought for a moment before deciding on an answer. ”I guess you could say that I'm not very interested in either of those things. Both get overlooked and both lack the particular amount of kicking butt that I require. I did never like the teachers I had. Always tended to be the butt of their punishments.” She mused. ”The Venandi offered me a family. One that gave me confidence and power. Power over others and power over myself and my doubts. Of course, I know that we’re not exactly the good guys... But I get my revenge as well. My best friend died protecting me from witches. I never did get over my anger. Still haven't.” She stopped and chuckled to herself. ”And I'm rambling again.” She spoke but didn't apologize. She didn't like the feeling of saying sorry so she didn't say it.

Caspian smiled happily up at the moon, thanking the heavens for granting him his wish. ”You are Diego. Never question that.” His tone was confident as he rubbed soothing circles on his back, trailing his finger on his covered skin. ”You know that at first, I was one of the few who didn't understand why everyone loved you? Of course, I envied you so much, well that was what I called it at the time, but the first time I saw what everyone else did was when you went out of your way to befriend the kid in the corner. I honestly didn't exactly as anyone and people scared me but every day you'd make sure to say to me, and soon enough I always looked for those curly brown locks of yours and those clear eyes every morning in school. You make me feel seen Diego. And that’s one of the reasons why I love you. Not the Diego most see because of your beauty, your addictive smiles, and the way you always seem to give off light even though those are all things I love about you too.” He spoke, wanting to make sure that Diego knew that he loved him for more than he showed to the world. “The true tipping point was when you stepped in to help me when no one else did.” He added vaguely, not really wanting to have to relive that part. ”the point of this way too long speech, is that I want you to know what I love about you too.”

Caspian smiled giddily and kissed him again after they pulled away, placing his arms on his shoulders around his neck. “You’re the best Diego.” He whispered after. “I hope you know that I’m not letting you go. Not unless you want me to. Even then I’ll still love you though, because you’re it for me.”
