1111642 The Lean Startup has become a classic in the entrepreneurship libraries. If you have not read it, you have probably heard about it.

Whether you are rereading or first reading The Lean Startup, you will walk away with something new from the book.

What do you expect from this book?

1111642 So you've read Founders at Work or part of it. We would love to hear what you think!

What did you think about the book and its different perspectives? Which interview was the most memorable for you? Why? What are you walking away with?

1111642 I'm surprised at how founders just shrug off their initial ideas when they found out they don't work. It's not like their initial ideas were bad, yet most talk about them as if it was normal to accept your idea is unsuited and to pivot to another one... and another one... and so on. That's some focus they had.

1111642 Founders at Work has over 30 interviews with founders about their first steps as startups. After a reading few you can start to see some similarities between them. Although no two founders and companies are the same, what common thread could the companies featured in Founders at Work have that made them successful?

Discussion Topics:
- What makes a startup successful?
- Why would some founders have huge success when many others don't?
- How has your perception of what makes a startup successful changed after reading the book?
1111642 I'll start.

I love innovation and entrepreneurship. I have a bunch of ideas for businesses that, at least in my mind, would be a success. Yet I've never had the courage to act on one. I'm a bit of a perfectionists, and I'm always held back thinking that I should have everything figured out from the beginning.

From reading the back cover, I hope to gain some inspiration. The book promises to show how big companies did stupid mistakes as startups. I hope that's the inspiration I need to act on a business idea.

I would like to discuss how much do you need to have figured out and how much do you build along the way when launching a startup? Are there some things you need to have before anything else, and what things you don't need to worry about until later?
1111642 It is always a good idea when starting a book to have your goals in mind, and with that verbalizing your intentions. So, to kick this month off here are some topics to discuss:

What are you hoping to get from this book?
What are you hoping to gain from this discussion?
Where are you on your journey to becoming a successful founder?
