110440 Do we have a deadline for this? I am reading Longbourn recommended by Sandy. Have started it but am reading several other things too. I like it so far!

110440 What a great list! Perhaps we could vote for 2 English and 2 other.

110440 I like the idea of a seasonal author, but would prefer authors that are not well known. Something new to discover.

I added one today for an ebook that was free on Amazon. I like to keep track of what is on my ereaders. Used to use Calibre, but since I add books at home AND at work, Goodreads is much easier. It would be frustrating if I had to wait for some "official" person to add these new titles, and there are thousands created every day.

It is the same in the US. Under Du for Du Maurier and Le for Le Carre.

110440 Me too, Greg. It was a reread for me. Or actually a listen this time, with Jim Dale narrating. He captured it wonderfully!

110440 Finished it, so that just squeaked in for October!

110440 I need to finish up The Lightkeeper's Wife which was an ILL and is already overdue. Working on Ulysses and And Ladies of the Club for group reads. I've started Longbourn for the recommendation swap, and I must work in Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail for my f2f book club. So I have my work cut out for me.

110440 Only 6 more books to reach my goal with 2 months to go. October seemed a bit slim, but I'm almost finished with a reread of The Night Circus for my book club next week.

110440 I'm currently reading The Lightkeeper's Wife by Karen Viggers. Not quite set in Antarctica. It takes place mostly in Tasmania and is about an elderly woman and her son, who is haunted by events during a year spent in Antarctica. So there are flashbacks. Don't know if that is enough to count, but I'm counting it as mine anyway! Also haven't read enough yet to say if I'd recommend it or not, but thought I'd mention it...
110440 Heart-breaking. I need to read more of her poetry.
Diolch yn fawr for sharing this.

110440 Thanks, Dely. And that reminds me of The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell.

110440 I actually didn't note the author, but looking at the options it must be Nightingale by David Farland.
