I am 21% into this and loving the leisurely pace, the descriptive writing. I think Beatrice is just delightful and appreciate her thought processes. I am even rather warming to Agatha. She surprises me at times. How different life was then. You couldn't just say what you thought, and women led very restricted lives.
Finished
Fallen Angel by John Ling a short but thrilling read. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

60% through an Australian crime thriller
A Time to Run: Constable Sammi Willis #1 by J.M. Peace. A great read - one of those books where after thinking 'I'll just read one more chapter', you find yourself still engrossed an hour later.
Just finished the very unsatisfying
Slaughter by John Lutz. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

We have a young athlete who comes from a poor family who has won a scholarship to an American University. This week they are fundraising for her. I also bought a jigsaw puzzle and some jam. I dropped off books and clothes. I too love charity shops. My favourite is in Hamilton, just over an hour away, but I haven't been to it since last year. I always come out of there with a couple of bags of books.
