Karen, you get a medal for all the reading you accomplish!! I've read a bit too--much more than normal, but then life isn't normal right now! I've recently read Out of the Silent Planet by CS Lewis, Redhead by the Side of the Read by Anne Tyler, Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold by John Le Carre, and am in the beginning of Fall of Giants by Ken Follett. They are all quite different but interesting. Hope to start The Chaperone when I finish Fall of Giants.

Far Pavilions is somewhat of a classic by now. I have never read it but maybe someday! We'll have to get it on one of our book club lists:)

Aunt Dimity sounds like so much fun! Someday (after I get through all my history books) I'll have to try them:) I'm continuing to read about the 1918 Pandemic and am still reading Pandemic 1918 and Minnesota 1918. I've recently finished Unsheltered, Pachinko, and The Island of Sea Women. All were good reads although none are on my all-time favorite books list.

Hi All! Looks you've been reading a lot--just like me:) My kids think I'm crazy too to be reading so much:) I recently finished The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See, Molokai by Alan Brennert, The Lager Queen of MN (for the 2nd time) by J Ryan Stradal, Very Very Very Dreadful by Albert Marrin, and am 1/3 of the way through Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. When I have time (!), I've been plugging away in Minnesota 1918: When Flu, Fire, and War Ravaged the State. Hope you're all well and that no one has gotten sick during this time. Kathy

HI! I gave the book a 4. It was a good story with good discussion points but not a 5 in my humble opinion. I too was glad to see everyone at our discussion! Kathy

Glad we can have a video meeting. It is easy to listen to Tom Hanks--makes the story go quickly. You really feel as though he is Danny. I think he received some audio awards for his reading too.

HI! Just found the place to post for The Dutch House! Looking forward to a discussion here, but would prefer to have a Zoom meeting!

Hi All! I finished The Dutch House this afternoon. An unusual read but interesting and quick. I'm looking forward to hearing other thoughts when we discuss. Any interest in meeting over Zoom to discuss it? Are we also discussing on the 3rd Tuesday??

It would be so interesting to know the origin of many of our American desserts.

I'm starting The Dutch House next week. It has come up for me on Libby and I can't wait to get started! (Of course, I have one that I must finish first; hence the delay in starting!)

Hi! I'm Kathy and I've been a part of this book club for 1 year. I always say my favorite book is the one I'm reading right now! Seriously, I like historical fiction, nonfiction, and new releases. I prefer to read a variety of authors and not stick with one author or series. I also enjoy children's and teen literature since I have 8 grandchildren whom I love book talking with.
