Welcome Simon, you bring up a great question. I would first start off by saying that Hot in terms of this group never just means erotica. In fact, I do not even read pure erotica. Hot is a personal opinion that we all share. Sometimes it's tropes of fiction that we find very appealing. In that regard we may even have a kink of or two.
I enjoy erotic suspense. But to be honest the only reason why my books are even labeled as possible erotic is the type of sex they have. You are not getting back door play in mainstream fiction, nor graphic blowies either. So the publishers and critics have tried to streamline this type of sex to being less desirable. The erotica label caries so much taboo when it fact, when written well is very hot.
But I am so glad you brought up the question. Us Hotties need to read what we like and this group is for everyone. From historical romance to BDSM. In fact our BOTM this month is BDSM. None of those books are pure erotica.
