"Did you hear that?!" Ella asked.
"Yes...I think whatever it was is over now."
"Perhaps we should go check-"
"Am I that repulsive that you want to get away so quickly?"
"What? No..it's just...you're betrothed and I'm only a servant and it would work for us too-" She was cut off by his lips against hers. As much as she wanted to pull away, her urge to kiss him back took over. She leaned in closer to kiss him more. It was perfect, he was perfect. His lips pressed against hers. The feeling of his hand running through her hair.
"I...I should go," she stammered.
"Wait!" he yelled as he grabbed her hand, "Don't disappear."
"I cannot promise anything Prince Tristan." And she ran off.

Tristan dragged Ella out onto a different balcony that Isabella.
"I can't believe he ate..." Ella laughed.
"I know!" She looked up at him and noticed that he was very handsome.
"I'm having a great time today...Prince Tristan." Ella said with her head down.
"I am too," he smiled. He lifted up her head and looked into her eyes. "A really, good time."

Tristan felt a tap on his shoulder, and worried it was someone else who wanted to dance with Ella. Unfortunately, it was worse.
"Well well!" Tristan's dad the king smiled. "It looks like you've found yourself a fine dance partner." Ella tried to shut up so they wouldn't recognize her, and hoped they wouldn't talk to her.
"Ah, yes father. This is Lady..." Lady Lady Lady Lady... "Eloise. Who hails from the country of..." Uh...uh... Tristan looked around for something he could use. "Lady Eloise who hails from the country of Flower-tin-onia."
"Flowertinonia?" The king tried to remember where Flowertinonia was. "Pardon me for asking but where is Flowertinonia?"
Ella wished he would stop saying that ridiculous name! "It lies far to the east from your country. It isn't very big, I'm quite sure a King of such a vast country would remember us." Ella was trying so hard not to laugh, as was Tristan.
"Well it is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance Royal Highness Eloise of Flowertonia." Please do stop! Ella was now practically giggling.
"What is it do you find so funny Lady Eloise."
"Oh...It's just that in Flowertonia we greet each other...with a flower!" She grabbed a flower from one of the arrangements in the room. And handed it to him. He copied her action.
"Oh," Tristan added, "But do not forget the most important thing! It is a custom when meeting someone for the first time you eat a flower petal to show your gratitude!"
What?! "Oh yes!" Ella took a petal off and put it in her mouth, "Mm yummy."
"Oh of course!" The king ate one too. Tristan, grinning like an idiot, pulled one off Ella's flower to join in.
"Well it was fine meeting you Lady Eloise," The King smiled. "I hope I get the chance to converse more with you about Flowertonia!"
"The pleasure is all mine." More than you know... As he walked away the two started laughing.
"Would you like a dance Lady Eloise?" Tristan laughed.
"Only if we can dance my native Flower dance!" Ella said in an overly dramatic tone.

"No no, the shorter one," Ella answered. "Oh goodness no! I should not refer to him as someone likely to dance with Isabella!"

"Who is that? It seems Isabella has found herself someone to talk with."
"I think it's one of the servants."
"It wouldn't be the first time," Ella smiled.

Ella blushed, "Oh thank you Prince Tristan." She looked down at her feet, hoping he wouldn't see her red face. "You are betrothed are you not? You shouldn't talk that way around women who aren't-"
"I believe Isabella and I are both under the impression it is short term until we can get out of it."
"Oh," she said. "Still, I feel awful dancing with you when you should be dancing with her."
He just shrugged, "Don't you think if we truly loved each other we'd be dancing together? Besides, she is hardly as beautiful as you tonight." That made her blush even more!
