On May 22nd, 2020, Shannon Messenger announced that there will be a ninth book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series. It has been scheduled to release on November 8, 2022.

As of tomorrow, [June 3rd], I will not be very active. I'm very sorry. I am going to miss all of you so much! Any RPs with my characters will be on hold, as I do not want people RPing my OC's. Sorry guys. Love y'all so much! I look forward to being online again in September!
