I read:
The Light Over London
The Edge of Lost
Red Rain
Sir John and the Brotherhood of the Blade
Red Water
Come From Away
And Then There Were None
Heiddeger’s Glasses
Most of this group was historical fiction. All were excellent. I had never read the Agatha Christie, but this may be my favorite!

The End
Midnight’s Children
Carousel Court
Red Winter
Princess: The Early Life of Elizabeth II
Why Read?
The Story of Beautiful Girl
Josephine Baker’s Last Dance.
I had read Midnight’s Children a long time ago, and while I still think it’s a classic, it was slow going. The two non-fiction were excellent! Getting a glimpse of the Queen as a young girl and the essay on reading engaged my attention throughout. The Story of Beautiful Girl, The End, Red Winter, and Josephine Baker’s Last Dance all took me to a specific place and time, and broke my heart. The only stinker in the bunch was Carousel Court.
