WOW! This was great! There’s nothing I love more than having zero expectations for a book, and then being surprised by..."Based on your response alone, I have added this book to my TBR list :-)

Finally - challenge complete! We moved last month and it has definitely had an effect on my reading. This book was absolutely incredible - the King fan and the animal lover in me were both over the moon. Definitely worth the lengthy read :-)

CHALLENGE COMPLETE! I did not enjoy this read. There is a lot of potential for the story but too much time was spent educating us about military operations. I will find time to give the second book a try but I won't be in a rush to do so.

CHALLENGE COMPLETE! I read Book 9 of Helene Tursten’s Inspector Huss series. As always, I enjoyed the pace of the story, the continuation of the personal lives of these now familiar characters, the buildup to the reveal, & the unusual way in which this story ended. I am writing from my iPad so I cannot add my usual book cover. However, the cover contains the white flower so prominent throughout the story and thus completes the requirements of this month’s challenge.

CHALLENGE COMPLETE! While this is well-written and quite compelling, I was uncomfortable for most of the book. I appreciated the look into the Japanese culture and the ‘no holds barred’ insight into our main character. However, I did not like the main character and came to loathe him in those final pages. The submissive nature of the females was disheartening to me. I am glad I experienced this novel but I did not enjoy it.

CHALKENGE COMPLETE: I read “South of the Border, West of the Sun”. While well-written (I’d read more from the author), I did not enjoy this book. I was uncomfortable most of the time & loathed the main character.

CHALLENGE COMPLETE: Benedict Jacka’s “Burned” was the best book in the series to date!

CHALLENGE COMPLETE: Helene Tursten’s “Fire Dance” Another book in the Irene Huss series which is my favorite after the “An Elderly Lady” series.

CHALLENGE COMPLETE: Holly Black’s “Book of Night” This was a delightful read for magical realism. This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite genres.

Challenge complete - finally! I read Felix Ever After … I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

CHALLENGE COMPLETE! I thoroughly enjoyed this quick paranormal read by Dean Koontz.

Challenge complete! I went with the beach read - fun & light hearted. Odd Jobs was just plain clever, fresh, and a pleasure to devour. There was a bit of romance but it wasn't the driving factor. I thoroughly enjoyed this twisted end-of-the-world-as-we-know it paranormal tale.

Challenge complete - sort of
With all that is going on right now (international move after 22 years in same place), I simply could not get into my chosen book. After full days of cleaning, sorting, packing, & appointments, I just don't have the brain power needed to process everything Poppy Z Brite is trying to pack into the first few chapters. I see quite a bit of potential for a great read but this is not a quick read. I will give this another shot once we are settled.

Challenge complete: I read an incredibly short item but it fit perfectly ... author was the main character and the story is told from his POV. Very enjoyable read!

Challenge complete: An emotionally difficult read but a tale that deserves to be read by everyone.
Challenge complete.
I *so* loved this book! The scientist, mathematician, and geek is me resurfaced and I am living for it! My complete review can be found

Brandy wrote: "March was bonkers, so I am still reading Red, White & Royal Blue for this one!"I am still working on my March read too. And this book is still on my list from last year. Can't wait to see what you think :-)

CHALLENGE COMPLETE: Not sure how I feel about this one quite yet but I just didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped [2/5 stars] but the girl power is strong in this one!
