Danelle, the whole series is just missing something for me. I feel like we are only getting 3/4 of the story. I would have preferred if the Yeine/Naha story continued as the focus.

I finished the whole series and in retrospect the first book barely fits with the other two. I mean, I read three books so must have liked them enough, but something was off.

I finished the book in the wee hours of the morning while feeding my baby and I think I liked it. I'll definitely read the next one so that's a good sign. I agree with Beth that the back and forth between past and present would be better on a reread.

I'm barely, barely started, but the parenthesis saying "this is not a digression" is giving me pause.

I didn't love it. The subject matter was a bit personal to me due to losing two friends to suicide in high school, but perhaps that was the point. I had a difficult time relating to the decisions the main character was making even when I put myself in an 18 year-old frame of mind. Also, the love story fell flat for me.
