105115 Is anyone reading this? I just finished it and I cried an embarrassing amount towards the end. It was my favorite book of the year so far.

105115 I kinda love it. It's super interesting to me especially in the days we live in post 9/11. The way we would have dealt with something like this is so different than how they dealt with it. The jumble of characters gets easier to follow as you read and It gets easier to get attached to new characters as the book progresses.

105115 I just read this article about the events this book is based on, it is insane that this actually happened.

105115 Anyone else need a flow chart to help them remember all of the characters in this book?

I am with you 100% Kathryn! I had major beef with pretty much every point you brought up too. Don't worry you've got at least one of us on your side so this month's boozy book club discussion should be fun.

105115 I am reading the Lux Series right now (the newest book just came out last week) its a paranormal(ish)YA series. The first one sort of pissed me off because it was basically a Twilight rip off, but towards the end it started to win me over.

I love Stephanie Perkins so I'd be up for Isla and I hear Breathe, Annie, Breathe is supposed to be good too.

There is A LOT of talk in the YA world about a book that just came out today called The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone. So that might be a good one to review.

105115 Beth I wanna know your thoughts on this one. I read it a couple weeks ago and I heard their BB series is going to end up colliding with the characters in this series. I had mixed feelings on this one.

105115 I can't even begin to tell you how pissed I am after reading this book. Just One Day was one of my favorite books of 2013. I wanted resolution for the characters, Its not like I wanted her to write them dating, getting married, having kids. I just wanted a few chapters of conversation between them. I wanted to see the same connection between the characters I saw in Just One Day. I was so disappointed in this book but at least it was well written. Gayle Forman is still one of my favs but this wasn't the book I wanted to read.

I prefer the ending to the Deliruim series to the ending of Alleigiant. After I finished the book I literally thought " I take back everything I said about Requiem"

Hunger Games did a much better job of the whole Tragic ending. You felt the loss and it stung, but it also felt like it fit with the rest of the series, this ending was for shock value and just ridiculous. I can't believe her friends/ family didn't say "uh hey Veronica maybe take an extra year to write a good story instead of a bunch of crap with a shock value ending that makes no sense."
I am all for tragic or bittersweet endings just as long as they are written well.

105115 The Four we knew and loved disappeared in this book. What happened to our quick witted, strong and brave Four? He suddenly turned into a whiny hurt little girl. The whole way thorough the book I kept thinking is anything actually happening? The romantic parts were sort of tossed in there as an after thought, there was no slow burn or sexual tension at all, those parts were as organic or intimate as the romantic parts in the previous two books, it just felt so out of place. The whole book just felt poorly written to me. Usually I am able to get lost in a book, but I started picking this one part almost immediately. Way before what happened... happened, I had a really hard time seeing this book for more than a bunch of bumbling words with a shock factor ending. I was super disappointed.

105115 You guys! Why do I hate all the books I've been reading lately (with the exception of Outlander of course) Everyone hurry up and finish it so we can talk about it!
Sep 30, 2013 02:14PM

105115 You guys... why didn't I like this book!? I waited for so long for it to come out and while it did have some good spots and I could relate to a few things (family members with mental illness, a close sibling that pulls away from you, bad parent issues) I just felt so bored with all the fan fic talk... and I LOVE fan fic! Was there something woven in the whole Baz/ SImon talk that I missed? Was I supposed to infer something more out of it?

The whole time I was waiting to hear more about her original fiction story that she kept putting off... thats what I wanted to read about.

I liked the story so much more when she was living her real life and dealing with the relationships around her and not escaping... but maybe thats the whole point of the book....
105115 Rebekah wrote:I think Shailene might be too pretty for Aimee...... Thoughts? ">

I saw the trailer for the movie and they totally make her look plain enough to be Amiee, I never thought she was supposed to be ugly, just sort of like one of those girls who doesn't know how to do anything with herself. I personally don't think that Shailene is like a stunning beauty. (like i said, I am a major hater)I just hope we get to see her in a purple puffy coat and t shirts with horses on them!
