I'm still working through Postscript (the follow-up to PS I Love You). It's a little slow-going and I can't figure out if I like some of the characters the same way I used to. I have no idea how it's going to end though so that's keeping me going.
Mercedes wrote: "Jean Plaidy - the original Goddess of Historical Fiction - her Stuart Saga - the Merry Monarch - Charles 2nd and the Haunted Sisters - Queens Mary and Anne, then her follow up book about Queen Anne..."Have you read all of her novels? Totally agree, she is the goddess. And wrote under so many pen names too! Prolific.
Mercedes wrote: "A Discovery of Witches - fabulous Oxford and London setting. And Bone Season - the Mime Order Series by Samantha Shannon - a love letter to London. And Dreaming the Eagle by Manda Scott - the story..."Ohhhhh good picks!! I'll have to add them to our shelf. I loved A Discovery of Witches and Mime Order. But I haven't read Dreaming the Eagle yet!
Jenny Colgan knows how it's done! What are some of your favs?

For books that don't fit neatly into a category!

I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to crime but no one does it better than the British! Where would you recommend I start? Who does it best?

Hello
Outlander fans!!! Is there anything better than Fantasy with a UK flavour? Who is on your MUST READ list?
Philippa Gregory,
Alison Weir or both? What's your favourite time period to read about?

Some of my FAVOURITE books are historical romances set in the UK. I can think of half a dozen but to get the ball rolling....Jude Deveraux's Velvet series springs to mind (very old now!)

What are your favourite contemporary romance novels set in the UK? Let's start the ball rolling.
